Rated 3 out of 5Â by Joe1706 Glass Leaked Grease and is a Poor Insulator
I would not recommend this smoker because the window is pointless it clouds up the first 5 min of smoking and after you smoke two times the smoke on the window is so heavy you can't wipe it clean. If you plan to smoke in the winter it will be harder to maintain the temperature because the glass releases a lot of heat. Also the window that I had just leaked grease even after smoking multiple times. The grease puddle was about 2 feet big.
I bought this smoker on 6/2/13 when i unpacked the smoker it was missing the screws and two pans. I called up Masterbuilt and they said I was missing the hardware kit so they sent me the kit which I received on 6/7/13. When I assembled the smoker I noticed there was a bracket missing screws so I called up again and sent them photos. This time they waited till the 13th and said just exchange it where you bought it. I would of hoped they would just mail me a new smoker and pickup the bad smoker since I had to wait so long for their responses and I don't have a truck to hull back and forth.
If you look at the picture you can see how dark the window is and this is after I scrubbed it for 20 min you can also see all of the grease the window leaked out this did not leak from the bottom at all.

Bought in July of 2012 and have used three times. The unit has rusted terribly, has a very poor design on drain tray and doesn't produce much smoke so it is close to a cheap electric oven. They have a already had a redesign on the chip tray that had to be replaced. Multiple calls have not been answered from the manufacturer. I owned a previous model and used it until it wore out over the last 6 to 7 years so I do have a reference point to just say they cheaped out when building

The first time I plugged in the smoker to cure it, it would not come on. Being an electrician, I dug into it a little bit to see if I could fix it. Turned out, there was a power supply board in the bottom of the smoker that was badly broken, looked like it was caused by overtightening of the mounting screws when it was assembled. I contacted Masterbuilt and they suggested taking it back to Bass Pro. I did and they took it back no questions asked even though I purchased it online. The new one works great and I am very pleased with it. I would have given it 5 stars if were not for the hassle of returning the first one because of the damage.

I purchased on Black Friday. Got it put together and it was did not turn on when I plugged it in. Called Customer Service and they send a new controller. got it installed and it is still does not work. I am sure glad that Brass Pro has a good return policy. Going to exchange it tomorrow.

Does this updated unit have a larger chip tray than the previous model, which was too small. Thank you.

A:Â
It has the same size chip tray as the previous model. I found the chips last a lot longer if you soak them in water for an hour or so before using them.Details:Â
Can you please verify if the unit is 720 square inches of cooking area or 640 square inches? The description says 720 but on the right where the price is, it says 640.Answers
A:Â
