Please refer to the owner's manual for the Tour Series motors on Motorguide's Web site. "Install a 50 amp manual reset circuit breaker in line with the trolling motor positive leads within 180 cm (72 in.) of the batteries."

What size 50 or 80 amp?

Details: 
I have a 24 volt 71# Motorguide that keeps blowing my 30 amp fuses and would like to replace with a circuit breaker. Should I use the 80 amp?

Motorguide's manuals recommend a 50 amp circuit breaker for 12 volt only and 36 volt only models. They recommend 40 amp breaker for 12/24v, 24 volt only, or 24/36v.
