I bought this to replace my exisisting plug that had a wire come loose and melt a hole in the fixture, I like the way the plug locks into the outlet, but this one may have the same issues becasue the screw doesn't grab the wire like it should. I think the type of screw is the problem. The screwdriver slot is cut shallow and is hard to tighten and the screw doesn't seem to grip real good on the wires in my boat. I like the whole ideal, I just think it's made too lightweight. I need to get it going and I can't wait and don't want to spend alot more to replace both ends.

Nothing but negatives. This receptacle has a threaded section and a plastic nut holds it in place. It wasn't long enough for the floor of my bow mount in my pontoon and I had to remove the floor collar to get it to fit. THe floor collar prevents it from turning when you insert the plug.
Second...the quality is horrible...one of the three screws you use to tighten the wire was jambed right out of the box. After using the remaining two in a two wire installation - one wire later fell out and when I wetn to reinstall it - that screw was also now jambed. Very cheap hardware here. THe matching plug, however was OK....almost like it was made somewhere else.
Third...if exposed to the elements, there is no protection for the wires....it isn't water protected like the plug side.

Used this plug on my fishing jet ski and never had any problems. the installation is simple and the mounting options are good. The construction is super solid. Hope it it works as well on my boat.
