I've used the fire shad color to catch bass and redfish in the marsh ponds. I sweep the rod tip to make the bait move about a foot or two, then pause the bait. As I pause I reel in the slack moving the tip toward to the bait and repeat the process.

I've used a 1-Minus and Baby 1-Minus for years when ever I want to change up in shallow water. Primarily using it for largemouth on weedy flats and smallmouth in shallow rivers/creeks. The Baby 1-Minus especially has produced great numbers when other people have been picking up only a few on spinnerbaits, topwaters, etc.
Because it does run so shallow, it can be worked near heavy cover without getting hung up. The action on this little shallow crank is big and violent for such a small lure. And also because of it's shallow running, you can really burn it, rip it, and pump it to produce a variety of attracting/triggering action and not worry about snags or messing up the action.
My personal best smallmouth came out of 2 feet of water on a rocky flat in a river on a Baby 1-Minus. And the best part, bass hit this thing HARD when they take it. Like they are trying to pull the rod out of your hands! This is definitely one of my go-to shallow baits.
Only down side is that the short bill and large treble hooks tend to hang on themselves at times. Switching out the treble hooks for slightly smaller ones helps this some.

Dont be fooled by the small size of this lure, they catch some big fish.
They have worked well for me on Northern Pike, Large and smallmouth bass and even had a musky follow it as well. They are durable and cast a mile.

Was having issues fishing the subsurface weeds in these lakes here in Michigan: cast, two turns of the spool, and chunks of weeds. Found these while wandering around BPS and bought a few. These things swim right over the weeds and the bass dart out of them and gorge this bait. I have such great success in skinny and weed-choked waters. This thing will not go deeper than twelve inches. The baby bass is my go-to lure. It has survived a year with minor dings in the paint, but it still catches fish. I have changed the front hook to a red hook and, I believe, this has improved my strike ratio. Buy it and throw it in the junk.
