This lure is interesting! I read about this lure on the Internet and decided to try it for Northern Pike in Manitoba. Based on the tooth marks all over it, it is effective at drawing strikes and catching fish. The fact that the lure floats and runs shallow was very helpful when fishing over shallow rock and weed beds, preventing snags. When my wife used the lure, it occasionally got tangled in the steel leader during the cast. Removing the front hook reduced the number of tangles, but also rediced the hook-up rate on fish, with a few getting away. In th e future I will make sure I have a 1-Minus in my tackle box if Pike are on the agenda. July 18, 2012
Not as good as I had hoped I used one of these baits for years and years and caught many, many fish with it. Unfortunately, a large pike finally separated me from one of my favorite lures. It was old, beat up and had an eye missing, but it knew how to catch fish. I went to the local store to find another, but to no avail. Then I went to local bait and tackle shops, and still couldn't find any hanging on the rack...I'd say I looked for the good part of 2 years. I thought they had stopped making this lure. Finally a bait shopped showed me you could by them online, and after fruitlessly searching for them in 3 states and probably a dozen bait shops, I did pull out the credit card and purchased 3 of them. I don't normally buy lures online, I want to see up close what the finish is like, but in this case, I had no choice. I bought 3 lures and when the lures were delivered, the box was crushed. The lures weren't packed very well inside the box and one of the boxes the lures came in was crushed, too. I don't think it compromised the lure, but I'm glad I didn't have anything fragile in this packaging. I tied the lure on and went out to fish. I was happy to see the lure worked as well as the old one, and soon hooked my first bass. Now I knew these lure are big, and the fish tend to throw them when they come to the surface, and to prove it, the next 7 fish I hooked all threw the lure. None of the fish were big. Don't ever be afraid of using this lure beause it's too big. I've caught both very large, and very small fish on it. I have to admit, I was disappointed with the fact that I cast this lure and it clunked against a wooden dock. The moment I started to real this lure in, I knew something was wrong...it would no longer float. I looked at the lure and it had a very large crack in it the length of its back. I realize I shouldn't have hit the dock with my lure, but I'm sure my old one would have weatherrd the thump without any problem. I'd hate to think my lure may be compromised if I hit a standing tree or a log in the water. I now know I have to be very careful with the other two that I have, and make it a point not to hit anything that might cause another crack in the lure. Do the lures catch fish? Yes. Do the fish throw the hook easily? Yes. Is it easy and fun to fish with? Yes. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes. Am I entirely satisfied with the purchasing experience? No. Am I happy that one of my brand new lures has a large crach in the shell and can't be used again? No. May 7, 2012
My favorite lure. i bring this lure with me everywhere I go. It never leaves my tackle box and I have a whole 370 tackle box just filled with them and still more. I have caught more fish on this lure than I have on all others combined. It outfishes most lures. December 27, 2011
Best Bait Ever? I'm over 50 years old. I've fished my entire life on freshwater and about 20 years on saltwater. I've fished the Baltic Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, and many lakes, streams, rivers and ponds. From the boundary waters of Canada to Woods Wall off the Florida Keys, the Mann's 1-Minus is the single most productive artificial bait I've ever used. It is particularly great for northern pike, smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Its castability, action, and flexibility as both a fast retrieve crank bait and gently manipulated surface bait is impressive. It is also very tough. I've casted into rocks at shorelines many times and never damaged one. September 6, 2011

A:
I emailed the company about this and they said that for a time a few products were manufactured in China. However, now every product in the Mann's line is made in America. Including the 1-minus.
