Awesome fishing Kayak
I personally own two of these kayaks and have fished on them in all types of conditions, from dead calm to 25mph winds that would have kept most people off the water and my Stealth 14 has yet to let me down. This kayak has everything that a serious kayak angler looks for, a lot of dry storage to store and carry all of your gear you will need for a day on the water, it has a front gator hatch that doubles as a seat for a passenger as-well as two storage compartments in the center and a large storage compartment behind the seat area, all of these storage compartments come with locking handles and rubber seals to keep your gear dry and easily accessible to you when you need it . The Stealth 14 also gives you the ability to stand and fish with its extra wide casting deck this helps if you like to be able to see the fish and cast to them. The stealth also has a built in bait well that can be plumed to keep your bait alive or you can use it as a cooler like i do. This kayak a paddles very easily and tracts well in the water even my 13 year old son has no problem paddling the stealth 14 so as you can see this kayak has everything you need in a fishing kayak

Sturdy and Reliable
This is my first Malibu Stealth 14 and I couldn't be happier. I have been kayak fishing for over 7 years and have owned 4 different brands of kayaks. My Stealth 14 is unsurpassed in stability and storage room. I've felt closed in on other kayaks, they never felt like they had enough room in the lap area and I'm not a big guy at 5'8". The Stealth has more than enough storage room. I really enjoy the wide cockpit area and I use the live well on every trip. I don't even have to use a live well kit, I simply undo the plug in the live well are and the well refreshes itself all day long. I've had a 20"trout live all day in that live well. I also love the pocket bags in the kayak. It makes cleaning the kayak so much easier. I no longer have to worry about spilling Gulp juice in my kayak. I simply take out the pockets and wash them in the sink. I've never had so much storage area before. My favorite feature is teh ability to stand and fish. Sight fishing has opened a whole other dimension to the areas I fish. I have stood up in 30mph winds to take a picture of my fish on a measuring board with no problem. Now, I stand just as much as I sit.

Outstanding fishing kayak made even better!
I have two Stealth 14s from Malibu Kayaks. The first one is Lime Green and it has been my main fishing kayak for the past four years. I've paddled it miles out in Lake Ontario, in Class II Rapids on the Genesee River Gorge, and on many of the Finger Lakes in Western NY. I've also taken it out west to fish rivers and reservoirs in several other states. It has been an incredibly safe and stable platform to fish from. I am hard on my equipment, often drag to fishing sites, and despite signs of wear, it is still going strong!
When I heard about some upgrades that Malibu Kayaks had made to the Stealth 14 and I saw the new Camouflage color pattern, I had to get another one. I just picked it up a month ago and have had it out on the water a few times already. WOW! The new kayak retains all of the incredible features that I love about it - stability, ZERO hull slap in waves, access to below deck storage... The improvements in this model are incredible. Here are a few of them:
-Hatch seal. One of the early concerns about the Stealth 14 when it first came out was that the hatch seal was not tight and that it could possibly allow water to get in during rough waves or in a flip-over. I had never had a problem with too much water getting in despite logging hundreds of hours in rough water. However, Malibu Kayaks has addressed this concern by putting in a high-quality gasket seal, adding heavy duty adjustable straps, and redesigning the gator hatch cover into a completely enclosed hollow cover instead of a clam shell - it now fits very snug over the hatch and makes a tight seal.
-Tie downs. The new Stealth 14 now has tapped-in heavy-duty posts for tie-down points instead of riveted hooks that the earlier versions came with. They are much stronger, easier to use, and create a very clean snag-free deck environment.
-Front seat attachments for the new model includes a hull redesign to include posts with tapped-in heavy-duty loops, instead of the riveted standard deck loops. I actually broke one on my first kayak. It was an easy fix, but there's no way I'm going to break the new system!
-Front and rear carry handles are now recessed for more comfortable use.
-Live well drain plug has been relocated from the keel to an offset location. This creates a stronger keel and prevents damage to the plug or water circulation kit when hitting bottom.
-Increased hull access. Both side hatches have inserts and you are able to access the hull for rod storage. Previously, you could only do this with one side.
-Hinged rear hatch cover instead of the old detachable cover. This is great because you no longer have to worry about dropping the hatch cover while opening it out on the water.
-Hardware. All rivets have been replaced by high quality stainless steel bolts.
The Stealth 14 was outstanding before, but I now believe it is the best quality fishing kayak in its class. With a 550lb weight capacity, it is unrivaled. It also paddles great!
This is a serious kayak for serious fishermen. My first Stealth 14 is now used as a spare to take friends and family along with me on my trips. I look forward to many years out on the water with both!
