I purchased two of these and it works great. I don't have to worry about my rod falling over. The magnet is strong enough to securely hold it in place, that I even leave permanently on the trunk of my SUV (so I don't forget to bring it) and it hasn't fallen off yet.

This is a great little tool to have when your at your car and want to rest your rod against something without it blowing over and hitting stuff damaging your costly investment. I have 2 of them and love them when I'm in the Wyoming wind of the North Platte.
