Mac's River Runner Prop Protector
I run on rivers with rocky bottoms. Figured the River Runner would be great, as I have bent props previously. The maiden voyage with the River Runner proved interesting. My boat, a Lowe 18 footer VPT1865 with a 90 hp Merc 4 stroke engine, lost 11 mph. There is significant drag. I would not recommend this product. I would get a skeg protector however.

Mac's river runner is just what my lower unit need. I fish the absolute rockiest river in south Georgia, where even the most cautious fisherman will buy a prop a year. After breaking off approximately one third of my skeg, l knew I had to have added prop protection. The product bolted on with no problem and is serving its purpose of beefing up my skeg and giving my prop awesome protection. The river runner has somewhat affected my speed, but it is speed I would gladly give up for the prop protection I am receiving. Wish I would have bought one 4 years ago, instead the 3 props that I have bought.

Lost some speed
Just put one of these on my 30hp 4-stroke Mercury. It's on my 15 foot Tracker.
It ended up losing about 3 MPH on the top speed. I'll give that up to have the prop protection.

Macs River Runner a Must Have!!
Macs River Runner is a must have for any boat owner! Fishing in shallow waters I was always concerned about striking my prop on rocks and snags. I have seen the damage that can occur firsthand. This product recently saved me over a thousand dollars in repair bills. I thought I was in deep water when I struck a submerged snag. Because of the Macs River Runner, I had no damage to my lower unit or prop. I'm sold on it. It is easy to install and does not affect proformance. I will have this product on all of my boat motors.
