Lyman Pro 500 Scale
I bought this scale in early 2010, and from the start it was inaccurate and unreliable. The graduations on the beam were offset 50% so measurements were tricky to say the least.
I returned the product to the factory (on my dime) and, after 4 weeks, they had replaced the beam. The new beam has a stronger magnetic dampening system, and it's too strong for pistol loads. It is now passable for rifle rounds, but I don't really trust it.
Look at the redding or RCBS scales for a better experience.

The quality is not what one would expect from Lyman. When I withdrew the scale from the box I was surprised that it is constructed of "plastic". My scale has a defect that parallels another review, the 5 grain poise is off by about half a notch. The zero adjusting wheel is definitely easy to use, works smoothly. Once I checked this scale against 2 others I own (Dillon electronic & Herters oil dampened) I was comfortable with its accuracy. To me it's not worth the $85 w/ tax.
