Lucky Craft Gunfish Pencil Popper
20 Striped Bass in Two hours
October 29th 2014 is a day I will never forget on the California Delta. It was a day we all dream about. That day I landed 32 striped bass from the bank in two hours. 20 stripers alone came on the Lucky Craft Gunfish 135 in 45' of water. the largest 6 lbs, 10 were 4 lbs plus. I was catching so many fish I got a massive cramp in my left forearm. Quickly fixed with Gatorade.
I caught the incoming tide, clear sky, 78 degree temps and the fish just went crazy. This Lure was brand new, now it has so many teeth marks its crazy as you can see in my picture. I will use this lure as long as it is manufactured.

Thus far I've only used it on one trip but was very satisfied with the quality of the bait in all respects. Quality construction including the hardware. Great action and caught several quality spotted bass when topwater wasn't all that productive for the most part. A couple more similar trips with same results will give it a 5 plus rating.

best topwater eveer
Used this bait 3 years ago on Degray Lake, Hybrids were breaking and would not bite anything.I had bought the Gunfish 95 but had not used it yet. After 20 minutes of no bite in 5 acres of breaking fish I tied it on. The first cast caught a hybrid. August of this year I caught 56 in one morning. Black bass cannot resist this bait. Work it fast!

A must have!
Is it a popper, is it a walking-the-dog? It's both. I bot the 4-1/2 (5/8 oz) for being able to cast far with baitcasting reel. It casts like a bullet. With slow twitches it move much better that a traditional popper. It splashes water, it emits the bubbling sound of the popper; however, it moves very erratic which I find it very good for attracting fish. With much faster twitches moves like a walking-the-dog lure. It has become one of the favorite lures. I'll buy the C. Shad and G. Minnow as well.
