BEEN USING TWO HDS-10 GEN 1 AND GEN 2, BOTH WITH STRUCTURE SCANS. EVEN THOUGH LOWRANCE HAS THE BEST IMAGERY COMPARED TO HUMMINBIRD, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE TWO GEN 1 UNITS IN ONE YEAR. MY GEN 2 HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR 6 MONTHS SO FAR NO PROBLEMS. AS TO THE LSS-1 TRANSDUCER IT BURNT OUT IN A YEAR REPLACED WITH GEN 2 AND IS STILL RUNNING AT THE 6 MONTH MARK. THE GEN 2 TRANSDUCER HAS MORE CRYSTALS WHICH SHOULD PROLONG ITS LIFE. LOWRANCE HAS GIVEN EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HAS IMPROVED THE ABILITY TO TALK TO SOMEONE WHICH IS GREAT, THANK GOODNESS, BECAUSE THEIR SUPPORT WEBSITE IS NOT USER FRIENDLY. I HAVE FISHED WITH LOWRANCE PRODUCTS FOR 50 YRS, OBVIOUSLY I THINK THEY HAVE A EDGE UP ON THE SCRUCTURE SCAN STYLE TECHNOLOGY OVER THE OTHER BRANDS. I STILL BELIEVE THERE IS MORE ROOM FOR IMPROVING THE LONGIVITY OF THESE PRODUCTS BECAUSE THEY ARE EXPENSIVE.
