This product is a great improvement over the lgc2000 I had. However no one told me I would need an adapter cable for my older unit. So if you are looking to purchase the LGC4000 I would suggest you look on the lowrance website to see if your unit requires a cable to use the LGC4000

Although my HDS-10 Gen2 internal antennas worked very well, I added two 4000 external antennas. They really helped while I was fishing isolated, offshore waypoints. I prefer to fish without marking places with buoys. Without the 4000s, my map would rotate some (loss of direction) when holding a position with the trolling motor, making it hard to know where to cast to the waypoint. The more frequent update rate of the 4000s eliminated the slight direction loss. Now I don't have to mark waypoints with buoys.

My gps was constantly dropping its signal. After installing the remote unit it has never happened again.

I have an LCX 25C and i needed to get an adapter cable from lowrance. My unit has the blue connectors and theLGC4000 has the black connectors. Other than the cable the LGC4000 works great with my 25C.
