Reliable navigation that's easy to use! The Lowrance Elite-7 Dual Imaging Fishfinder/Chartplotter Combo features a Broadband Sounder™ (83/200 kHz) plus DownScan Imaging™ (455/800 kHz) for depths to 1,000 feet. DSI signal features a maximum depth capability of 300 feet. The Elite-7 Combo boasts a 70% larger Elite Color 7" display for brilliant, widescreen visibility and viewing detail in all conditions. A multi-window display capability lets you choose up to three panels in split-screen mode. For instance, Chart, Sonar, and Downscan imaging may be combined in one view. Broadband Sonar is ideal for marking fish arches and tracking lure action. DownScan Imaging reveals easy-to-understand, picture-like detail of structure and bottom. Overlay DownScan Imaging onto Broadband Sounder display for one stunning view that separates and clearly exposes fish targets from surrounding structure. Save time and fuel by using the Elite-7's TrackBack into Sonar History to review covered areas, pinpoint spots of interest, and mark a waypoint at your cursor location with the press of a button.

Overall a great product for the price I've owned many locators, GPS. For the money you get a great product. The only complaint I have is the Owners manual leaves a lot to be desired. At least there is your support staff to help clear up things. September 1, 2014
Elite 7 HDI I have had trouble with it freezing up and shutting down unexpectedly. The store where I bought it replaced it with a brand spankin new one right out of the box, no questions asked. The store even helped verify the installation and double checked all the wiring in my brand new boat. Unfortunately, I am still having the same issues with it freezing up and shutting down unexpectedly. So I am not very satisfied with this product so far. August 13, 2014
Lowrance - Elite-7 HDI occasionally goes black ,have to reboot....pain in butt slow on location updates when trolling ,tough to work a bar or break when not updating constantly. bad signal ? August 7, 2014

A:
The Navionics Gold charts are the most comprehensive 2D navigation charts available. These charts include marine navigation data from the best available sources and Navionics own survey data. Charts include a paper-like chart appearance, as well as tide & current data, port plans, user-selectable safety contours, marine services with phone numbers, marsh areas and navigation aids with Xplain.

Difference between the Marine and HotMaps Products: The Marine navigation charts (Gold & Platinum+) are based on the government navigation & Hydrographic Office charts available for the coastal navigable waterways and the Great Lakes. The HotMaps products (HotMaps Premium & HotMaps Platinum) include inland freshwater lakes maps for sport & recreation. Each product provides a unique set of features and benefits designed to benefit your boating and fishing adventures!

Hi, Yes, they can connect them together for Waypoint Sharing, you will need to create a NMEA 2000 network.

You would need the 000-0124-69 NMEA 2000 Starter Kit (SKU number 1608630) and (1) 000-0119-79 NMEA ‘t’ connector (SKU number 1753663). Outside of this you shouldn’t need anything else unless you need to extend any of the cable lengths.

Thank you!

Hi, you can save screenshots to a microSD card by inserting a microSD card into the card slot and pressing Power and then Zoom (+). You must view files on a computer or other microSD compatible device. Note: You cannot save screenshots to a Navionics card or other mapping card. Thank you for your question.

A:
The manufacturer only list mounting instructions for the dash or inside the dash. You might contact Lowrance to see if they think this would be a good option or if you would lose GPS signal, web site: http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Fishfinder-Chartplotter/Elite7-HDI-en-us.aspx. However, this unit comes with a 16 parallel channel internal GPS antenna; optional external GPS antenna sold separately. Thanks

A map does come preloaded in this unit. It shows creek and river channels as well as contour lines for the major lakes. If you want more detail you would have to purchase one of the mapping cards.
