Reliable navigation that's easy to use! The Lowrance Elite-7 Dual Imaging Fishfinder/Chartplotter Combo features a Broadband Sounder™ (83/200 kHz) plus DownScan Imaging™ (455/800 kHz) for depths to 1,000 feet. DSI signal features a maximum depth capability of 300 feet. The Elite-7 Combo boasts a 70% larger Elite Color 7" display for brilliant, widescreen visibility and viewing detail in all conditions. A multi-window display capability lets you choose up to three panels in split-screen mode. For instance, Chart, Sonar, and Downscan imaging may be combined in one view. Broadband Sonar is ideal for marking fish arches and tracking lure action. DownScan Imaging reveals easy-to-understand, picture-like detail of structure and bottom. Overlay DownScan Imaging onto Broadband Sounder display for one stunning view that separates and clearly exposes fish targets from surrounding structure. Save time and fuel by using the Elite-7's TrackBack into Sonar History to review covered areas, pinpoint spots of interest, and mark a waypoint at your cursor location with the press of a button.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good Unit, but there are some drawbacks. First let me say that this is a really good unit. If you are looking for solid performance on the sonar, this package has it. The down scan is REALLY great. Gives clarity to what you are seeing on the sonar. For Sonar and downscan alone, I would have given this unit a 5+ star rating. The screen size is big enough to see detail with out being so big it is in the way of my other instruments. Install and setup were really easy to follow. **FYI - you will want to do the v3 upgrade on the unit, it does clear up some issues I had initially. The file is available at lowrance.com. All you do is put the file on a micro SD card, make sure the unit is pwered off, insert the card and power on the unit. The Elite7 will detect the card and automaticially perform the upgrade. The reason I gave this unit only 3 stars is the GPS map. I noticed this unit had some issues scrolling the built in GPS map. Didn;t think too much of it until I added the Navionics+ chip. Once I did this the GPS map would experience issues where it would take several minutes to redraw the screen, often times as you were under way, the GPS map would scroll off the screen since the unit was having trouble redrawing the map to keep up with my movement. My boat has a top speed of around 25-30 MPH, so it's not a super fast boat. After a couple calls to lowrance (who were great by the way) I spoke with a tech who advised me that the Elite series units were built with the GEN1 processors so the maps did have a little lag time. This would be worse with a map card installed due to the additional detail the unit would have to process and redraw. I upgraded to one of the HDS models with the GEN2 processors and solved the map issue. If the sonar and downscan are your biggest concerns, then let me say again, this is a great unit. My father in law bought the same unit when I bought mine and he loves his. He only uses the built in GPS to mark fishing holes and measure distances to his favorite spots. He doesn run a mapping card like I do, so the map scrolling issues and redrawing issues I experienced aren't an issue for him. June 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Product/Bad Luck Bought this unit in March but due to where i live don't get to the salt with the boat as often as i'd like. Used the unit two time and it was flawless. EASY to use, easy to navigate and with the promo (had to wait almost two months) but i got the chip and it marks all the public snapper spots for the FL gulf coast. Went down last week and used it the first day of my two day trip with no issue. The second day unit wouldn't power on in the morning and we ended up having to run out without GPS/Sonar. Not ideal. No snapper or grouper...didn't have the now mandatory backup handheld. Called tech support because the unit was freezing on the load screen. Wouldn't do anything. had to unplug the power from the back of the unit to get it to turn off. Tech support said a factory reset (didn't work) or a software update was the problem. I didn't understand the need for software updates (released in Jan/14) when I bought the unit in March/14. Very annoying to not capitalize on the short red snapper season due to a software update that i couldn't run. Still kind of salty about that. Got home, 15 minutes worth of downloading and unzipping and plugging the unit back up. Ran the update automatically when i plugged the chip in and it's running just like new. on a lighter note, ran by Destin BPS and was explaining the problem i was having to the salesman over marine electronics and how about the Elite 7/HDI on display crashed right there with me explaining how it happened. Wife thought it was hilarious. Ended up trolling Rapala Mags 15-20 and slaying kings and got lucky on a chicken dolphin. When this thing is running its as good as anything else in it's class if not better. They just need to upgrade the equipment before they put it in the box. May 29, 2014

Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome I got one of these for Christmas and I think this unit is awesome. I installed the latest update 3.0 from Lowrance and it seems to be running quicker then before. For the money, i couldn't asked for a better unit. March 18, 2014

Hi, you can save screenshots to a microSD card by inserting a microSD card into the card slot and pressing Power and then Zoom (+). You must view files on a computer or other microSD compatible device. Note: You cannot save screenshots to a Navionics card or other mapping card. Thank you for your question.

The manufacturer only list mounting instructions for the dash or inside the dash. You might contact Lowrance to see if they think this would be a good option or if you would lose GPS signal, web site: http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Fishfinder-Chartplotter/Elite7-HDI-en-us.aspx. However, this unit comes with a 16 parallel channel internal GPS antenna; optional external GPS antenna sold separately. Thanks

A map does come preloaded in this unit. It shows creek and river channels as well as contour lines for the major lakes. If you want more detail you would have to purchase one of the mapping cards.

1963962 vs 1957347 are the two elite models that you are selling. Both show networking capabilities and both have the dual transducer with downscan imaging but one of them is $100 more expensive. The only difference I can find is that one is 83/200 and the other is 50/200. What does that mean?

A:
The 83/200 and 50/200 is the transducer that comes with unit. The 83/200 is mainly for freshwater lakes and the 50/200 is for deeper water applications such as the ocean.

SKU 1963962 has the 50/200 transducer which would be for the deeper water. The 1957347 has the 83/200 transducer for the more shallow water.

Details:
I'm looking at purchasing two of these units. One for the helm and one for the bow. Can the sonar transducer data be linked (Ethernet) between the two units as shared sonar data? I was thinking about mounting one transducer on the transom and one on the trolling motor. So If I can link the sonar data I can switch between which transducer I would like to be using at a given time (i.e. transom transducer data displayed on both units, then switching to the transducer mounted on the trolling motor to display on both units).

A:
No, the Elite-7 units have limited NMEA 2000 functionality. When linked to the same NMEA 2000 network, The Elite-7 units will be able to share waypoints and GPS antennas. There is no Ethernet capabilities with these models. You will need to get HDS units in order to have the ability to share the transducers.
