Rated 1 out of 5Â by RJCIII BEWARE, DO NOT BUY
I should have known better to buy another Lowrance product. 1st one I owned I replace the external antenna 3 times before I had enough. Found a newer model on sale a few years later and bought it and had many problems with it also. Don't why I did it again, I guess it was because it appeared to be a nice unit with all the features I was looking for. After installation it would not power on at all. So on my 3rd Lowrance they have all been pieces of junk. Will be sending back tomorrow. BEWARE, DO NOT BUY!!!!!!

Ordered in Dec. & rec'd early January. On 1st use at Lake Powell in 70 degree heat, screen got VERY hot & unit froze up after about 5 hrs use. Let cool for 20 mins & started working again. Depth would not function intermittently or at traveling speed. Would freeze at 1.9 feet when depth was much greater. Had to restart numerous times to clear. Same issues occured the 2nd day.
Called Lowrance. Customer service said return unit to Memphis & they would immediately send a new unit once they received the bad unit. They provided a return authorization with mailing label for Memphis.
A couple weeks after UPS stated unit was delivered in Memphis I still had no confirmation from Navico. My call revealed unit should have been sent to San Diego for repairs. Acted like it was my fault. Two weeks later I have a "replacement" unit. On next trip, unit still overheats, but now it just turns off. The depth works at running speeds though, so that got fixed. Returning to Navico at $32 a pop is making this a very pricy unit. I feel like they just tweeked the original unit, stuck it in a new case showing a new seial number & sent me the old unit back.
Moved up from a XC515 that had issues too. Last Lowrance for me. Gave the review a 1 becuase they don't have a zero.

I already had a elite 5 and could not pass this up for the money. It is about time that Lowrance has came out with a larger screen, let alone with down scan. This product is easy to use and very Easy to see from you chair thanks to the 7'' screen. I also used the 6 pay and it was very helpful.

Moved to this unit from a sonar, the down imagining is very good, well priced. Does not come with a cover or cleaning rag. Seemed a like cheap on Lowrance's part

1963962 vs 1957347 are the two elite models that you are selling. Both show networking capabilities and both have the dual transducer with downscan imaging but one of them is $100 more expensive. The only difference I can find is that one is 83/200 and the other is 50/200. What does that mean?Answers
A:Â
SKU 1963962 has the 50/200 transducer which would be for the deeper water. The 1957347 has the 83/200 transducer for the more shallow water.Details:Â
I'm looking at purchasing two of these units. One for the helm and one for the bow. Can the sonar transducer data be linked (Ethernet) between the two units as shared sonar data? I was thinking about mounting one transducer on the transom and one on the trolling motor. So If I can link the sonar data I can switch between which transducer I would like to be using at a given time (i.e. transom transducer data displayed on both units, then switching to the transducer mounted on the trolling motor to display on both units).Details:Â
I am new to fish finders, sorry for the lack of knowledge. This looks like a good unit for the money. Either this or the Elite-5, any suggestions?Answers
A:Â
The unit is easy to remove. An additional Gimbal Mount ,(000-11019-001) available only from Lowrance ,can be used to move head unit to another location. The Elite 7 or Elite 5 would be excellent choices.
