Great Product for your money I love this unit, It takes a little getting use to but playing with it seems to be the easiest and fastest way to learn it. My only wish is that it was more compatible with other Lowrance's product. I would love to try Lowrance's spotlight sonar on it and would love to see more of Gen's features include into it like overlaying my charts with my down scan. But for the price it really is a great buy. January 6, 2015
Very happy with the Elite 7 HDI Gold Although I had a perfectly functioning Lowrance 28C HD unit I decided to upgrade to new technology. I'm pleased with the Navonics gold card and believe it worth the extra cost. Initial start up is slightly longer than any unit I have ever owned probably due to the amount of memory being used and it is NOT a problem. Screen is nice and bright and adjustable to many levels. I'm missing a DLL file in my computer so a friend downloaded the latest software update which loaded into my unit flawlessly. OK ~ the only negative I have has been voiced by others. Without reason the unit will restart at times and at other times simply shut off. Not a huge deal but a PIA at times. July 24, 2014
LOTTA TRICKS Man, there is not much this unit will not do. Using the tri-screen mode shows you everything going on under your boat with amazing detail. Structure, baitfish, FISH and even thermoclines. We found an underwater spring using this unit. I pointed out a huge school of crappie(could even count individual fish) under a bridge to some bank fisherman. This is my first unit with GPS and it has been worth every penny. My oldest son is fairly new to bass fishing and he watches this thing like it's a car show(370Z man) and he fishes out the back of the boat and catches fish!! You can't go wrong with this unit. Can't wait to get another one for the front of the boat so I can quit turning around!! July 26, 2014
Impressed I bought my Lowrance elite 7 over winter and now have used it about 10 times and every time I'm more impressed with the way it handles. With the down scan imaging you can see a lot more definition. This past trip out while cruising in about 12 feet of water we managed to locate a submerged car!!! Yes my wife could not believe her eyes but it was so clear on the down scan that you could not deny it. On the negative side the unit does have a tendency to restart it self about once per 6 hour trip especially when it has not been touched for about 2 hours. So far I'm impressed. July 24, 2014

Shared transducer

Details:
This unit has NEMA 2000, will it share the transducer sonar information with another unit at the same time? I am looking for a unit to place at the helm with another unit on the bow. Shared transducer information is needed because dual transducers will cause interference.

Transducer types if I am not mistaken. One comes with a deep water transducer (ocean) and one is a shallower water transducer (lakes, rivers, coastal).

The difference between the $799.99 and the $699.99 is the transducer included with the unit.

The unit for $799.99 includes the 50/200 + 455/800 HDI transducer. The 50/200 kHz frequency is better suited for saltwater anglers.

The unit for $699.99 includes the 83/200 + 455/800 HDI transducer. The 83/200 kHz frequency is better suited for freshwater anglers.
