2 award-winning technologies in 1 great unit! The Lowrance Elite 4x HDI Fishfinder offers Hybrid Dual Imaging that combines Broadband Sounder with DownScan Imaging. Advanced Signal Processing (ASP) reduces the need to manually adjust settings to see fish, structure, and bottom detail more clearly. A TrackBack feature allows you to review your recorded sonar history including structure, transitions, or fish targets. A page selector menu provides quick access to all features using 1-thumb operation. A Multi-Window Display lets you quickly choose from pre-set page layouts, including a 3-panel view while still viewing live sonar. The Elite 4x HDI includes many of the same features incorporated in the popular Elite-7 HDI unit, while offering the option of Hybrid Dual Imaging at a more affordable price. Supported by the Lowrance Advantage Service program.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by POWERFUL This is my first fish finder and I was looking for any brand up to $250 without navigation that would work for me. I fish mostly small waters and utilize an inflatable pontoon and needed a small but powerful unit. My goal was to find structure and then the fish. This unit has a very bright screen that can be seen easily on a Colorado sunny day. The imagery from the broadband down scan is very clear and exceeded my expectations. The sonar finds fish easily and I especially like the fish icons and alarm. This unit has a lot of options so you can fine tune it well and the menu is very easy to navigate. The quality and design is very good. Battery draw is next to none. I am using a small agm 8 amp/hr battery and had the finder on for 8 hrs straight and the battery was still nearly fully charged at the end of the day. It is my first finder and with no regrets I give this unit a full 5 stars. April 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Elite 4x HDI Very good for the price. I wish I'd have gotten the 4 so I could have GPS due to fog on the lake but that's not going to happen more than a few times a year. April 1, 2014

Yes, but are you wanting to put it under the kayak or shoot through the hull? I personally did not like the DSI model, but I fish in saltwater a lot and it is useless in salt because of the high frequencies it uses.

It does come with a transducer but it's much bigger than the standard transducers that came on my boat. I'd be cautious when mounting it on the trolling motor and would probably use a transducer guard.

It does come with a transducer and an adapter to mount it to a trolling motor. You will need to purchase a fused wire and run a 3A fuse through the power circuit though.
