Loon's Hard Head fly finish is a fast-drying, water-based, polyurethane formula for building colorful, glossy heads and bodies on your favorite fresh or saltwater fly patterns. This low-odor compound replaces messy epoxies in many applications, and it’s ready to go right from the bottle. Includes applicator brush.

Okay I bought this over the winter and when I had to move my tying area to my unfinished basement I wasn't able to tie as much. I started tying a few weeks ago and noticed that my jar, which is just under half way full, was hardening. I put it under my light and it softened. I give it three stars because of that problem but also because the brush is to big for dry flies and nymphs, and if it started to peel off it would fall apart soon after. I think at if you are tying large (#2 or larger hooks) then this would be great for you, but if you tie small flies go with something else. July 21, 2013
Not that great Gloss Coat work better. Hard Head is ok for sealing thead on a fly head but will not coat well on a fly spoon. Hard Head tends to bead up/ not flow well on the slick surface of epoxy. Also, the brush is too large for small areas. I like Gloss Coat much better because it has a better build up and pin point accuracy. January 22, 2011
Great product! Dries hard and leaves a professional looking result. Works great for Deceiver heads! May 2, 2006
