Just started Dutch oven cooking last year, This accessory is a great help when taking the lid off for whatever reason. I am glad i spent the money.

They keeps the lids of Dutch Ovens out of the dirt and coals. They also are a sturdy way of resting your lids while you stir, add ingredients or serve from the dutch oven.
