Introducing Lodge Logic: Ready-to-use cast-iron cookware, pre-seasoned for consistent performance! For more than 100 years, Lodge has been perfecting the process of making cast-iron cookware, formulating the perfect metal chemistry to create durable cookware with incredible heat retention and distribution. In the past, the seasoning process was never complete until someone cooked countless batches of fried chicken, catfish and cornbread in the pan or pot to burnish it to a black patina, creating a piece of cookware that could be handed down like an heirloom. Lodge Logic removes the waiting, thanks to a newly-developed seasoning process. Lodge's electrostatic spray system applies a proprietary vegetable oil combination to deeply penetrate the pores of the iron. The result? Seasoned cast-iron cookware from Lodge you can use it right out of the box.

Lodge Logic Dutch Oven
Used the Lodge Logic dutch oven several times so far have enjoyed the results . We have used two of the recipes from the supplied cook book. The book is easy to use and the recipes are excellent. I would definitely recommend this item and will probably purchase another in the near future. Our current one for baking (desserts and biscuits) and another for main dishes (meat, vegetables, etc.).

Best way to cook outdoors
The Lodge DO, is a great way to cook outdoors. Brings back lots of memories of meals long ago cooked outdoors over an open fire. It is a great item. Be sure to use a lid lifter and some heavy duty gloves when handling this out of the fire or coals. Lodge makes some great items. If Lodge were to add legs to the lid, allowing you to use this upside down, that would be a plus.

king of camp cooking
Cook almost anything in it, easy to use. It wouldn't be a mountain camping trip without it. Spread aluminum foil on ground, shovel hot coals from a fire onto foil or use a charcoal chimney to prepare some charcoal. set the oven over half coals, filled with favorite fruit cobbler mixture, put lid on and cover lid with the rest of the coals. The ridge holds them on and won't let them fall off into the food when you peek. Wait the required time and carefully remove lid with lid lifter. Enjoy. Contact nearest BSA troop for recipe. The aluminum foil protects the ground from the heat for 0 impact camping.
