This lure typically works best when you run it over the tops of weeds using the stop and go method and I've even had some luck in the open water it has one problem I fish out of a float tube and when I lay the rod across my lap the bottom treble hook sits in the water and triggers the baitfish sounds but then again not to much of a problem all in all a good purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jig4Bass Keep your Livingston chirping
I recently contacted Jason of Livingston Lures to ask how to tell if my lure was making sound. His reply was very helpful.
He said, "Wet your fingers and touch both HOOK HANGERS at the same time. You should hear a 'chirping' sound within seconds."
He cautioned to dry the hanger contacts after use and keep other lures from touching the Livingston so power does not drain from the battery.
Ads say the battery will last for 2 years, but that is shelf life. Use within the water is 100 to 150 hours. If the sound of your lure does not last that long, they will stand behind their product and replace it, if you keep your proof of purchase."

I have used this lure several times and it has now become one of my go to lures. I have landed multiple bass using the chartreuse color lure when no other lures would work. I highly recommend this lure.
