I have tried a number of different buoy's over the years and none of them performed well. However, these Lindy buoys perform exceptionally well. They unspool correctly every time and hold their position well.

I know these are marking buoys but they work great for jug fishing for catfish. I just take the weight off the end and add a hook, a couple of split weights and wheat bread compressed into a ball for bait. I just drop it in the water where I want it and it will unreel it self to the bottom perfectly then when I get a bite the fish will set the hook on it self due to the weighted buoy. Once I see the buoy bobbing and walking around I go retrieve it. All in all if you jug fish it medium to deep rivers or lakes, it is a great additon to your fishing arensal.
