Lightening Strike's biodegradable yarn Strike™ Indicator is pretreated with high-floating Watershed™ and comes in a handy dispenser that attaches to your fly vest. Yarn provides a much more subtle presentation than foam ''bobber-type'' indicators. Three-feet per package. Instructions included.

  • Biodegradable
  • Pre-treated with Watershed™
  • Handy dispenser
White River Fly Shop® Lightning Strike™ Indicator Yarn 5 5 1 1
Great stuff I switched to this from the stick on dots. I found the dots to be too big and ungainly and wanted something with a little more diversity. The yarn will allow you to use as little or as much as you want to do the job at hand. It's impregnated with some super-floatant/water repellent so it really repels water and stays on top. Much easier to cast than dots, and it just looks better on the water. March 9, 2009

Like for parachute wings (Klinkhammers, etc.?) It seems like it could be good b/c its inexpensive and treated with a floatant, but what about the biodegradable factor?

indicators are not as sensitive as the yarn but would be a good option.

PRODUCT TIP
For best results, wet fingers before handling Biostrike. Form a football shape piece on a section of dry leader or line. Stays put best if applied at a leader knot. Helps you follow dry flies as well. Try a series of different colors to help visibility in varying light conditions. Remove at the end of the day and place in container, as it is reusable.
