Incredibly rugged, the Leupold VX-3 CDS Rifle Scope with 1” Maintube features a Custom Dial System (CDS) that can be precisely matched to your rifle's ballistics. (With the purchase of this scope, send them your ballistics and they'll send you a customized elevation dial ballistically matched to your rifle.) Every CDS dial features ¼-MOA click increment finger adjustments and no adjustment covers to lose. CDS dials change out easily, allowing you flexibility with different loads, conditions and calibers. The CDS system works by laser-inscribing your scope's elevation dial to match your load, velocity and conditions.

The VX-3 Rifel Scope is loaded with optical technology: Xtended Twilight Lens System, DiamondCoat 2 lens coating, blackened lens edges, second generation waterproofing, twin bias spring erector system, and cryogenically treated adjustments. This is a fantastic productand the fact that is made in the United States and I saved money on it made it all the better. I called Leupold to order my custom dial and they assured me they would get it out ot me for my upcoming Colorado antelope hunt. The WBY .257 is shooting sub MOA with the 4.5-14 x 40 CDS. Rated 5 out of 5 by teamclingman my favorite scope I've had my VX-3 CDS for about 2 years and I love it. I have not experienced any of the issues described in the other customers negative review. There is no cover for the elevation adjustment, but there is a zero stop. Mine is zeroed for 100 yards, so that is as low as you can turn the turret. It ddi take about a month to get the custom dial for my ballistics, but it comes with a standard dial to use in the mean time. Very simple adn self explanitory on how to use. I have used mine on several huniting trips with excellent results. May 22, 2012

Rated 1 out of 5 by PJPP Ok if you do not need for two months Bought a new scope and found out it took 6-7 weeks to get a CDS for my specific ballistics. Zeroed rifle with dial on scope but there was not a cover to protect zero. Asked Leupold for instructions on CDS use as there was none provided. Instructions with scope did not include VX3 with CDS. Was told to go to the internet but there were no instructions for VX3CDS. Responded to email and informed Leupold. Got a call from tech rep to give me instructions while I was on a hunt to MT. Called him after the hunt. Luckily I had another weapon with a different scope when elevation was moved. November 4, 2011
