Awesome Rangefinder This is my first rangefinder and I couldn't be happier. It is bright, super fast, and so simple to use! I am thrilled to no longer have to guess how far the deer are away! Wouldn't head to the woods without it! October 31, 2014
buy a nikon I have been through 2 different range finders from leupold. Both crapped out on me. I do not abuse them but I use them. The idea is great but the components are horrible. The obviously charge to going rate but assemble from the cheapest parts. I have had better luck with NIKON, at least they stand behind their name. Leupolds solution was to sell you another rangefinder and I quote..." better luck with this one"..! June 13, 2014
Awesome Bought a cheaper rangefinder and the old saying you get what you pay for really came into affect. After sending it back I bought this and LOVE IT. It is so fast and accurate, fits in your hand comfortably, and lightweight. December 12, 2013
Great purchase I have been looking for a rangefinder to replace the one I purchased about ten years ago. This range finder is easy to use, compact and light. Great for hunting in Alaska. December 11, 2012

A:
Surface texture, color, size, and shape of the target all affect reflectivity, which in turn affects the maximum range of the instrument. As a rule of thumb, brightly colored targets are much more reflective than darker targets. Tan game coats are more reflective (and thus provide a more solid reading) than a
black roof. A shiny surface is more reflective than a dull surface. Smaller targets are more difficult to range than larger targets. Light conditions, haze, fog, rain, and other environmental conditions can all affect ranging performance. Any factor which degrades air clarity will reduce the maximum effective range. The sun generates infrared energy that can degrade ranging performance in bright
conditions or when ranging towards the sun.

A:
If your target has light brush in front or brush tress or objects behind it, the laser can give you a false reading.

I have not used for golf. But I feel confident it will range the golf pin easily. I use mine for hunting and it has not failed me yet to range.
