Tip the odds in your favor on the hunt with the Leupold RX-1000i with DNA® and TBR® Rangefinder. A powerful rangefinder that delivers accurate distance measurements up to 1,000 yards in .1 yard increments, the RX-1000i provides incredible speed and accuracy thanks to Leupold's lightning-fast Digitally eNhanced Accuracy. Optimized for most popular rifles, the RX-1000i's True Ballistic Range® technology calculates incline angle, line-of-sight range, and projectile ballistics (compatible with mil-based reticles) for true distance readings on angled shots. When matched to your rifle's ballistics, TBR technology gives you the true ballistics range to the target shown as a holdover point, an MOA adjustment, or the equivalent horizontal distance. Multicoated lens system, OLED display and fold down rubber eyecups provide a superior view to traditional rangefinders, giving you confidence in early morning or late evening low-light conditions. Easy-to-use rangefinder also features a Quick Set Menu®, Scan Mode, clicking Fast-Focus eyepiece, and more. Comes with belt case, carry strap, CR2 battery, and rugged Cordura® nylon case. Weight.: 7.8 oz. Dimensions: 3.8"x2.8"x1.3".

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not worth the price I purchased this item for my Sako .300 Win-Mag. The range finder requires you to put in a bullet category which is supplied in the instruction booklet. Well, none of the categories fit my gun or sight in yardage. When I contacted Leupold their response was to sight the rifle in at a different yardage. I already spent $ on a custom ballistic turret for the gun so re-sighting is not an option. Getting a refund is easier. October 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Satisfied The rangefinder works exactly as described. The reason I purchased this over others is because the clarity of both the lens and the markings is significantly better then any other I have tried. I have looked at ones that were on sale on the $250 dollar range and went with this higher costing one because the improvement is that noticeable. My rational was that if I were to already be spending $250, might as well fork over a little extra and have something for years to come rather then reinvesting in a range finder over and over. Anyways, Cheers! November 5, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by same old same old I have had two other rnage finders, a bushnell 800 and a nikon 800. Neither would range much past 300 yds and with irregular performance. I walked into the BPS and asked the guy behind the counter if he had any products that even came close to living up to their claims. He handed me this unit and said that if I could get over the rpice i would love it. I killed a bear and a deer this year and the bear would not have been taken cleanly had i not had this unit, It has a terrific red display that can be adjusted to the conditions and it goes out to 900 yards consistently. This is no joke, i don't usually do these reviews, btu this product follows the same high quality of their scope lines. It is nto often that a product does exactly whati t says today and this one does it in typical Leuopold fashion. I have 9 higher end leuopold scopes that have never let me down and this product is the same. Spend the money it is worth the cost! October 27, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Leupold RX-1000I Rangfinder Purchased before Antelope hunt. The setup of the desired readouts was somewhat confusing, but it was accomplished. The optics and accuracy of the readout are excellent. The light weight and the small size make for ease of carrying. The operational button is small and somewhat difficult to operate with large fingers. That's my only complaint. October 15, 2012

I am not worried about TBR, I can calculate that with a known distance and my loads. I also hunt bow and am curious how well it measures on angles.

Bow/Gun difference?

Details:
Does this rangefinder have different settings to measure differently for bow vs. gun? If not, why do they advertise the different ranges for bow and then gun?

A:
Yes it does have different settings to measure between the two. The rifle setting measures yards/meters with +/- 1 accuracy but with the bow setting the measurements are presented even more accurately up to a certain yardage with 0.1 +/- increments so on bow mode you will see that the target is for example 23.7 yards away.
