Rated 5 out of 5Â by bsimm78 Great Tool
I had two Gerber multitools before I ended up with the Wave. My wave has lasted through Iraq, hunting, fishing, camping and minor household repairs. In my opinion, this is the multitool that all others should be judged by.

The leatherman series of muli-tools are flat out awesome. They are tough, reliable and have a million uses. I carry it wherever I go, and it's amazing how much i use it or find uses for it. After realizing how much I like mine, I bought a second pair so I had one in my truck at all times, and one to carry when or wherever. GREAT STUFF!

The leatherman wave is got to be by far the best multi tool on the market i have owned one for about five years i use it for every thing my wife tells every one i would be lost with out it. i even used it to save some ones life a person i know got trapped with a seat belt strap around their neck i used the serrated blade to cut the strap not to many knife blades can do that

Owned the Surge forst. Here is my review on that:
"All in all a great multi tool! I have used a few different models and this one is the best so far. Very functional, accessible, and user friendly. Blades keep an edge and are very sharp. The only slight drawback (and the reason for the 4 star rating) is the leather sheath. It shows wear easily, is stiff, and is kind of a chore to put a webbed belt through. However, leatherman offers a nylon sheath for the Surge on their website. Probably a good investment."
The Wave brings the same great tool as the Surge minus the leather punch. The Wave also weighs less than the Surge which is a big plus for me.

Does it also have a locking mechanism for all of the little tools inside the handle? for example, the scissors? Finally, does it have the little lanyard hole that slides out from the bottom?Answers
A:Â
Leather sheath-no. But comes with a durable, woven polyester case that wont wear out easily. And yes all of the tools have a thumb lock that can easily be depressed to release the tool from "locked" to the closed position. And no lanyard hole.A:Â
