Good product, needs minor modifications Heavy duty product that does the job. Only reason it gets 4 stars is that it does NOT come with a retaining pin to keep your lantern from falling in if the rod rotates. $1 at hardware store takes care of it. August 7, 2012
Not enough info The holder itsef...is great; however I am very disappointed in it's presentation. In no way did it tell me in the catalog I needed any additional parts...now I have a holder with no way to use it until I order whatever I need to mount it with...and there wasn't any suggestions nor directions. Simple and Great This works great for night fishing. It is very simple (a good thing) and sturdy. It keeps the lantern out of the boat and makes it possible to give you good light. A must buy if you plan on bait fishing at night. July 20, 2011
Great Item I bought 2 of the lantern holders and they are very sturdy and well made. I can fish without worrying if the holder is going to hold my lanterns or not. I like the hole the the middle of the holder where I place a cotter pin to lock it into place. May 3, 2010

A:
It mounts in the 1/2" "Pro" rod holder bases. If you want to use the hanger with a rod holder, you'll need two bases (one for each).

Judging by a lantern holder I have and the picture provided I'd say the bottom of the holder's arm will fit snuggly into a typical rod holder on a boat or dock. You do need a mount for it if you do not have a rod holder.

Judging by the link that this item sends you to, I'd have to say that it's 1/2".
