I used this product on a lot of my knives from carbon to stainless and its does a great job, but the storage box leaves something to be desired. I built a wooden
box for storage and now I'm totally happy. To bad the original box was so bad.

For the price it's in a very cheap plastic box. Expected better. After using the diamond system, it did a good job on a few hunting and fishing knives. The knives were in good condition when I started, but came out with a much keener edge.

I have a number of high-dollar kitchen knives and bought this sharpener to, well, sharpen them. To start, they mixed up the grain on the coarse and medium hones....I've shown it to at least 15 people, and every one of them said the hone labeled "coarse" was less abrasive than the one labelled "medium". OK, so I switch the order that I use them. Despite following instructions carefully and having watched a number of Youtube videos, this thing just does not sharpen my knives. In most cases, they are worse off. A buddy brought over the Spyder sharpener and it had my knives razor-sharp in just a few minutes. I would not recommend this, at least for high end kitchen knives.

I have used the Lansky Diamond Sharpening System for over 15 years. I have knives of high quality steel and stainless steel. It sharpens fixed and folding knives. The edge is shaving sharp with the fine diamond hone as the final step. The diamond hones do not lose their flat surface from wear like the stone hones and they last for years. Make sure you place the clamp in the exact same position for each sharpening. I draw a diagram on a piece of paper of the clamp position for each knife. I have some other sharpening systems and the Lansky Diamond is by far the best. Don't worry about the price, the Diamond System is well worth the money. Mickey H.
