Landmann USA Northwoods Outdoor Fireplace
Best Fire Pit I've Ever Owned
I love the size of this fire pit. That was the selling point for me.
I live in a residential area in a city so we have to have our fires in an 'approved' fire burning vessel, which means we have to use that pesky screen top to cover the fire pit.
With the other (round bowl) style of fire pit, I found that it was hard to make a descent size fire and the typical sized fire wood would usually be too long/big.
The other boxy/pointy chiminea style fire pits are too tall to have a group of people sitting around it (campfire style), the fire can usually only be seen from one side.
That has not been a problem with this one. My regular fire wood works just fine. I can make nice sized fires and I can even flip the cover open, roast a few wieners or marshmallows and just flip the cover back down when finished. I can seat a group of friend all around the fire, and they can all see the fire, and each other (because there are no 'chimneys' blocking their view!
Adding wood to the fire is also easier - simply lift up the side panel (using a fire poker), add wood, drop panel back down. No more lifting off the screen top, look for a safe spot to drop it where it wont light any grass on fire, or where it won't get stepped on by kids/pets!
The assembly was a breeze! Only took me about 10 minutes!
The stainless steel cooking grill is a big bonus! My old bowl fire pit didn't have one of these. It's perfect to grill sausages and even fish on top of hot coals on one side, and have a small fire going on the other side!
I could not find a weather cover for it, but I think one of those BBQ rain covers might work, I might just have to cut it for length and get the edge hemmed so it doesn't come apart.
Overall, this is a GREAT product!

best idea ever
My guy fought me on getting any firepit other than one thats on wheels.[I hate them, not well made] But after only a week with your fireplace he gave me a hug and said it was the best idea I ever had. He LOVES it! We put in a 7x7 brick patio for it and its everything I had been looking for for 2 years. I'm picky. Love the nice wide interior for longer logs, hinged front is great. nothing to lift off and find a place to set on the ground. very good construction. went together easy. There are only couple things I would change. Top screen could be made out of heavier materials, one bolt hole was off abit and so the door isnt straight when closed[that really bugs me] and the poker needs to be longer & gets hot just by laying near the pit. But these are in noway a reason to pass this one by. It's terrific!!!!!!!

Bang for the buck
You get what you pay for, but for the price, I was shocked. It's not a $400 fire pit, so dont expect something like that. But it looks nice and with the cooking grate, its more functional than a pit of twice the price. I like the flp open front becase I dont burn the grass with the usual lift off lid. Next best thing to being at a real campsite, although I may bring it the next time I go camping.

Just want we wanted
Nice product...the wire screen is a little cheap but still functional. The longer length of the pit is nice for longer pieces of wood. Don't think we will ever use the grate for cooking...it's hard to cook over wood! But for a nice relaxing fire on a Saturday night, it's perfect.
