Rated 5 out of 5 by A great bass snack At one point or another, we all have encounter the time where bass are suffering of something some call lockjaw. It is the time when you can throw anything by the anchor and they just won’t bite. It has been my experience that when that happens, it is not that they won’t bite. It is that they are just not up for a meal. All they want is a little snack. this is when this swimmer takes place. This little swimmer turns those hard days into days full of action. Due to the size of them, I like to rig them on a round jig head. A 1/16 work well. However at times I use a 1/32. They come with a hook size 10 with is good enough to hold those lunkers. Due to the weight of the lure a light to ultra light spinning gear is a must. I like to use 4lb test line. So when the big one bite, one must know how to handle them or they will break off. There is one little problem though. This little swimmer will catch anything that is around. Big bluegills, crappie, catfish, baby bass and I have even got a carp on this swimmer. With 4lb test line, it took forever to land it though. So it could take a while before you catch that lunker you are after. But one can’t complain about the action one will be getting. I like to verily twitch the tip as I rill it back. Almost working it as a jerk bite as I let the fish tell me the speed that they like it. So I start very slow and little by little increase the speed. It does not take long to figure that out. My favor colors are black pearl, magic shad and albino shad. But other colors had work well too. October 18, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by amazing It makes you hungry . As soon as I unleash one I want scampi. The action is the same as the larger version, but sometime you need to simply have an appetizer instead of a meal. It is well suited for finess greenbacks and kicks bootie on bronzebacks. I find a better rig here is a shaky head, only add a hitch- hiker and remove any front attachment apperatus such as a screw or anything in your way, hang it straight, or use a similar one piece lead head long shank device. Screwthe Horsdoeuvre on and weedless the hook into the bait. Do not use cheap hooks. Spinning rod here is very comfortable. St Croix legend extreme, Shimano Stella reel, kind of makes me envy the next victim, but there I go getting sentimental again, 10 lb braid power pro, 10 lb floro leader, keep tension on tip of rod while lure sinks, kind of picture it as a helicopter descending, DO NOT let it go straight down , DO NOT RELAX THE LINE Very Much, they get it on the drop 3 to 1 be ready, the fat lady sings by 2 casts, NOW WHO'S YOUR DADDY.? PS it does'nt bury itself in the weeds, the tail prevents a search without a find ,THEY ARE ON A MISSION TO GET THIS WIDOWMAKER. Bring enough for the family, sharing is good, not with the guys, let them buy their own. It just isn,t fair to run out in the middle of a seminar on bassin, like the first time, I had only 4 bags , buy a six pack for starters, just for sharin', And they think we're havin' fun out here, it's a job, get serious, September 20, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for vertical jigging or trolling Have used these for several weeks now and have really grown to love them. Great action, and the fish seem to love them. There are plenty of color choices now with them, they work great, and they are very reasonable on price as well. Great product. :) August 30, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT PRODUCT A friend of mine turned me on to the lake fork majic shad and i have been hooked. I have caught perch, bass and a very nice 26" chain pickerel on my ultra light pole with 4lb test and the lake fork live baby albino shad. These soft swimbaits will catch anything even trout..Keep your net ready! if i didnt have my net i would have never landed the chain pickerel in this review.. August 3, 2011

The best way is whatever is working for you. I personally like to vertical jig it when I am fishing. Works well for me.
