Lake Fork Trophy Lures’ Boot Tail Magic Shad Swimbaits feature a new "Boot Tail" design that utilizes an innovative tail combined with a patented "live" Magic Shad Lure. Slots in the tail enhance this lure's realistic swimming action—especially at slower speeds used for umbrella rigs, jigheads, Carolina rigs, or swimbait hook rigging. Hook slots on top and bottom aid in weedless hook rigging. Boot Tail Magic Shad Swimbaits are also charged with garlic and salt.

  • Unique slotted tail design
  • Realistic swimming action
  • Impregnated with garlic and salt
  • Hook slots in top and bottom of lure

Great Best lure I have ever used caught my biggest bass using this lure. I'm no pro but I know a good lure when I use one and this is ideal for bass. They love em' April 12, 2013
Boot Tail I have used the boot tail for several weeks now on the Alabama Rig and as a standard swim bait. I used the Pearl and Albino shad as a single bait around grass and caught all the fish I could handle. I use the Pearl in the center of the Alabama rig. I've caught big fish all fall on this bait, including an eight pound large mouth. The action on the tail is awesome the fish really go after that bait. You can rig up on any type of standard swim bait hook. I prefer a 5/0-6/0 when I'm using just A single bait. You can reel it as fast as you want, jerk it, or slow it down and the tail really creates an attraction. The bait does all the work, just get it in the water and you'll see for yourself!!!! Great Swimbait and worth the price!! This bait was fantastic!! I ordered two packs of the magic shad color, and when I recieved them started fishing with them immediatley. I caught 3 fish on my first 5 casts with one. One of these fish was a monster 6 pounder. They are very durable, i like to texas rig these, with no weight. They are amazing! buy them !!!!!! Perfect for swim jig For fishing a weightless Texas rig I prefer the regular magic shad, but for a swim jig the boot tail is far better. I pair the 4.5 inch with the Strike King Squadron Jigs and a silicone skirt. The boot tail has enough kick that in addition to it's own movement it also overpowers the jig head and causes it so sway from side to side giving it a very lifelike action. When I'm specifically targeting big fish, this is the swimbait I rig up. September 21, 2013

These can be rigged a lot of different ways. If fished in open water, my favorite ways to use them is as a trailer on a Chatterbait or a Scrounger jig head. If I use them around grass or vegetation, I Texas rig them weighless on on an EWG hook or on a light swimbait hook.

We'd recommend a 3/0 hook. We've had success both with and without a jig head.
