Rated 5 out of 5 by NathanOFcentralNC Went in for Muck boots and walked out with these!!
I've owned both muck boots and lacrosse boots in the past. In my opinion both were fantastic boots. As a matter fact these are the second pair of lacrosse boots I've ownened, in addition to some lacrosse chest waders. While the waders are only one season old (and work great too) I still have a set of lacrosse thermal boots that are over 10 years old and are still just as warm and waterproof as the day I bought them (which is surprising because they are zip up boots in the front).
To be honest I went into bass pro to buy a pair of neoprene muck boots for wetlands and scouting purposes and maybe fourwheeling and busy work. However, in the back of my mind I've wanted a pair of snake boots for years and never broke down to make the purchase. BOY WAS I IN LUCK!! Generally our local Bass Pro Shop does not carry these boots in stock as they are an online order only. It just so happened that somebody had made a return on these boots because they purchased the wrong size and they fit me like a glove. I've read some reviews that the boot rubs the back of peoples knees and are uncomfortable... Let me set the record straight, this is just not so. I'm 6 foot tall and these boots are plenty comfortable, in fact I wouldn't want to buy snake boots any shorter than 18 inches!! Perhaps for those vertically challenged this may be an issue that I can't say.
Finally, I have not worn them in the field and awful lot but what I have they seemed to hold up to the reputation of being a nice namebrand boot at a good price. I got the neoprene waterproof boot I was looking for with the added protection of snake proofing. This eliminated the need for me to buy two different boots. If there had to be a drawback my only concern would be they are quite strong smelling as far as the rubber is concerned so I would likely not wear them deer hunting. Perhaps with time the smell will fade like past boots have.

The boots are great at first but after a few years the inside heel comes apart and causes blisters and starts leaking

I hunt in North Florida swamps and there is no shortage of snakes. LaCrosse boots are the only boots that I use. I also deer hunt in IN. I have LaCrosse boots for all types of hunting climates and terrains. For the money you get the most for you bang for your buck with LaCrosse boots. I have used the others and they have all come up short.
