Do not buy these boots! As mentioned, the ankle material collapses and bunches up. Fraying of material around zippers began first hunting day (light casual hunt, less than 1 mile). This accellerated on the second real hunt of 3 miles. the material rubbed when I walked, making noise. On this hunt the boots were subjected to lots of rain.
On the third hunt, zipper broke while putting them on. I am returning the sorriest pair of boots I have ever seen. Hey, but they were comfortable....

I received this boot and the first thing I did was test it out. I put it under running water and tested both boots for leaks. The waterproof does not go up to 18", however if you are wading through anything deeper, I would suggest a pair of waders instead of boots. They are very comfortable and easily adjusted to fit your leg profile.

Not so good!!!! Sent them back !!! Just had them on in the house The material seems to bunch up around my ankles bad and the "waterproof" part of the boot does not go up 18 inches its like 10"

Not sure what the other reviews were on about, but these have been awesome on my feet. Had lots of trouble with leaky Rockys in the past so I thought I'd give these a shot.
I could see going in that there's a little gap in the tongue toward the top so you can fit your feet in, so I knew I could only go that deep in water. No problem for me, and I'd much rather have the full snake protection. Even when I do go in water my feet are still dry. I like the flexibility and lightness of it without feeling cheap. Worn these in different conditions and they worked like a charm. Very satisfied.
