Also, are you sure your hooking them? Bass can move fast enough that they put slack in the line when they grab the frog, so make sure you have slack up before setting the hook, Also make sure you are not trying to set the hook right away, give them a couple of moments to take it in.
I intentionally fish with my rod tip down so by the time i bring slack in and set the hook, its been long enough for them to take the bait.
i make zero alterations to this bait and caught 70% of my bass on this bait last year.
light days= light colors
Dark days= Dark colors
murky water= bright colors
Clear water= Neutral colors
So evaluate your conditions, and fish the appropriate bait

The hooks are 4/0.
and has better hookup ratio. I feel the smaller profile matches the hatch better. The Spro works well, caught them up tp 8lbs on them, but I just like the detail and smaller size of the Koppers without losing weight.
