These pliers do not close the hog ring enough to seal the game bags. I use regular pliers. More difficult but it gets the job done.

I don't feel like superman except for the second ring I squeezed with these pliers, I broke one of the handles in half. The pliers is not a durable product, I wouldn't expect it to last for a lifetime so don't purchase if that is what you are looking for, the metal is not hardened like a traditional handtool. Other than breaking the pliers worked well.

If you do your own sausage then you need a hog ring pliers. These are the economical ones but they will still work great for small batches. I have them and have gone through several hundred rings with the sausage I make.
