Rated 4 out of 5 by walleyehunter4 time saver This stainless steel sausage stuffer saved us a lot of time stuffing the casings and I like the fact that it has steel gears to help push the plunger down. Just one small complaint that the threads on the shaft that the gears are on should be a double start thread instead of a single start thread so the plunger can go up and down faster and the stuffer tubes should be made of stainless. other than that it made our job a lot easer and clean up was a breeze. Rated 5 out of 5 by ReidG LEM 5 pound vertical stuffer This thing is amazing! I went from an old horn style stuffer that took me 1.5 hours to stuff 3 pounds of pepperoni, down to about 20 mins to stuff 5 pounds of pepperoni. Highly recommended. Do what I should have done in the first place, spend the extra money right off the bat and get a good product. Don't waste time with the cheap stuff. January 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by SausageStuffer1 Great Product I have been making sauage for many years and I have always used the LEM #8 grinder with the stuffer attachment. This worked fine in the past, but that changed this year. I purchased the stuffer and the product was great and it cut the time in half. We made 200lbs of sausage in just under 4 hours. This is a great product. January 17, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by SpoolDog Disappointed... I was super excited to get this stuffer as a gift from my uncle two winters ago. I went to use it the other day and found that a weld on the frame had broken making the stuffer useless! I have only used this stuffer 7 - 10 times since I have had it and have not abused it in any way. when I called LEM to get it fixed they said that it was past it's warranty and If I wanted them to fix it I would have to pay to have it shipped to them and then they would charge a $25.00 fee just to look at it! This is a very expensive piece of equipment and I am very disappointed with LEM products. How could they let such a defective unit be sold? Why will they not do the right thing and fix or replace it at no cost... What about that batch of sausage that will never be enjoyed in link form? What a waste of $300 Bucks!! I seriously thought LEM Products Quality and Service was better than this.... Guess not. January 16, 2013

A:All you need to do is raise the plunger to the very top, then it comes out of the canister. The canister then just slips out. Super easy, and very easy to clean.
A:It is made of stainless and the canister does NOT tip out during the stuffing process. if you want to remove the canister, simply unwind the plunger, unscrew the plunger head and slide the canister out. Takes less than one minute to remove the canister.
A:The 15lb vertical sausage stuffer has a stainless steel base and cylinder.
To free the cylinder (#2) for removal by turning/cranking the handle counter-clockwise until the piston is free of the cylinder. Slide the cylinder out of the frame.
A:It came with 3 tubes and the largest works great for summer sausage.
A:The largest tube that came with my vertical stuffer was about 1 1/2" diameter.
Details:Does the 5 lb stuffer have steel gears? It looks like the 15 lb has them, but the 5 lb model shows them as black. I don't want plastic gears....
A:I just picked up a brand new 5 pound model. Yes, it does have steel gears. The stuffer is very heavy duty, and very well made.
A:Yes the black gears are NOT plastic. They are steel.
A:Yes, the 5lbs stuffer has metal gears. I've seen the one from Great Northern that comes with white plastic gears and it seems a little cheap.
A:Mine has a black steel gear, no plastic. The plunger is a thick, hard plastic with a groove that the O ring rides in but that part is very stout.
