Went hunting with a friend from 2-6pm, and had a spike and doe walk up on me as I was reaching the top of the lock on. My friend gave me this to try out as I had never before. I had something sit outside of the food plot 30 minutes before dark so I decided to try and play with the call. I used basic knowledge of what it would sound like and did my best to mimic it, 10 minutes before dark I had my second buck of the season walk out and blasted him. I definitely will be getting one of my own

this rack pact works great. it is small but it sounds so realistic. it isnt a plastic sound. it sounds just like bone. it is really loud too.A:Â
Yes, and you had better be ready. my deer didn't sneak in, but came on the run with the wind not into it.A:Â
It sounds just like every other rattling call out there but it's waaaay more convenient to packTop 250 Contributor

I've used it, and I liked it. I'm no expert when it comes to rattling - but when I used it last November - I saw many bucks come within bow range shortly after I rattled. Many small bucks (spikes and forks) - but I saw 4 different bucks come looking for the source of the rattle.A:Â

how far could a deer hear this call ??3 years, 7 months ago

A:Â
depend on location wind direction but at least a quarter mileA:Â
This call is loud enough for a deer to hear. The distance a deer can hear it from depends on a lot of variables, such as the density of the woods, ambient noise from wind blowing trees, and other animals. A good rule of thumb is about 300 yards because most bucks aren't going to come running a couple hundred yards to get in a fight. You're trying to target large bucks in the immediate area, that are bedded down resting or prowling around in the area.Top 1000 Contributor

this rack pack is really a great call. it sounds so realistic and you can make a quiet subtle call or you can make a really agressive loud rattle. it is really a great product!A:Â
I could here it 200 yards away, and a deer can hear 2 to 4 times as far as a human so you can do the math. Personally I have seen a buck coming running from 250 yds away straight to my stand. Hope this helps. Good luck in the 2011 Season!A:Â
Its just according to how aggresively you work the call. I would say if you can see the deer, he will hear it. It is louder than you think, because i just lightly worked it like to young bucks sparring and had a dominant buck come on the run.A:Â
It really depends on the terrain. If it's pretty open, then I would just venture a guess of a 1/4 - 1/2 mile away.A:Â
It gives off a great amount of volume for being such a small call.A:Â
me and my brother were in the woods the other day putting up new stands and i took my pack rack with me because i wanted to know the same thing he was about 400 yards away and he said he could hear it very wellA:Â
