I don't know if it was damaged in transit or what, but just in testing it, I tried everything and the best sound I could get was a badly wounded duck. My buddy's son thought it was funny.

great call killed 15 gobblers this year located all of them with this owl call. although it sounds better if you take the black end off of it . i think it puts to much back pressure on the call.

Haven't used this in the field yet but found it very easy to use during practice sessions.

This call has fairly good volume but I needed to experiment with my hand positioning around the back of the call to get a nice natural sound. By cupping my hands around the end I got a much better sound but it was slightly more quiet. Once I got it just right it sounded very good.
