The Blur is one of the Ken Onion designs for Kershaw that features the Speed-Safe® patented assisted-opening system which assists the user to smoothly open the knife with a manual push on the thumb stub or Index-Open system. The blade is constructed from 440A Tungsten DLC coated stainless steel. Handle is made of anodized aluminum with Trac-Tek inserts for a firm, secure grip. Liner is made from 410 stainless steel. The Blur features a pocket clip on right side of handle to secure the knife inside a pocket for quick and easy access. Made in USA.

Perfect size, comfortable in the pocket, has reversible clip and the blade takes and keeps a razor edge.Opens with lightning speed using only the thumb. Perfect self defense weapon when you can't carry a firearm. Highly reccomend this knife! February 6, 2011

The 284 has a 2 3/4" blade. The 285 has a 3 1/8" blade. The 286 has a 3 5/8" blade.

What is the blade made of

Details: 
The description lists 440 steel for the blade, but Kershaw updated the blade to a newer steel. Are these the old 440 steel blades, or are they the newer blades?

The Kershaw Blur is made and patented in the good ole' USA. I tried to include a picture of the stamp, but it wouldn't come out good in the light. Hope this helps.
