The original Keen hybrid of trail shoe performance and water shoe durability, the Newport is designed to perform in the most adverse conditions, including saltwater and dirt abuse, without sacrificing comfort or style. This trail/water sandal comes complete with Keen's patented toe protection and a washable waterproof leather upper. The Newport cradles your foot and provides excellent arch support with its metatomical low durometer EVA molded footbed. Its compression-molded EVA midsole cushions the foot for super comfort. Leather upper is lined with hydrophobic mesh and hugs the foot closely with its snug fit strap design and quickdraw elastic cord lacing system. Sandal is treated with the Aegis Microbe Shield® to control bacteria and fungus that cause odors and stain shoes. Its non-marking rubber outsole features a multi-directional 3mm lug pattern and razor siping for top traction in treacherous wet conditions. Imported.

Howdy, Foax!
Whether hiking, kayaking, or just kicking back, these are among the very few best items of footwear to bless my feet in more than 55 years. Since their purchase in 2008, I’ve worn my first and only pair virtually every day, from the Rockies of British Columbia to the swampy estuaries of Coastal Georgia to the Indian River Lagoon in Florida, never hesitating to immerse them in the waters of the Atlantic or the Gulf when necessary. On the very rare occasions when I’m incautious enough to pick up rocks or sand (Duh! They’re sandals!), a quick hook with an index finger followed by a knock or rinse brings them right back into formation. I especially appreciate the width, the bombproof sole and tread, and the protective toe cover – great for deflecting the occasionally unseen cactus or other sharpie (when I stumble over a rattler in ‘em, I’ll let y’all know how that turns out). Also partial to the tiger striping these sandals lend my feet after knocking about in our hot Rebel sunshine.
These are the only blows they’ve taken in 6 years of hard use: (1) The footpad liner of the left sandal gave up the ghost after its fourth annual washing – pulled it out, barely noticed the difference. (2) The lacing and pull tab on the back of the right sandal separated at the end of year four – removed the remaining tab fragment, had a shoe repair glue the liner to the heel strap – still going strong after 15 months. (3) Sometime during year 5, the outer sole of both sandals separated from the inner sole for about 3/4 inches at the back, but they stay tightly pressed against their heels, and don’t flap or make noise.
What would keep me from buying these forever? When their manufacturers succumb to the trend of producing them in Day-Glo Pink and Vitriolic Violet, or other colors designed to offend the ambiance of the natural Outside. Besides, if I ever do need rescue, I won’t expect the color of my footwear to be the beacon that saves me.
I’m purchasing my second pair today. Will I get rid of the first? Not on a bet – they’re coming from the fields to the Big House to serve as my favorite slippers. Will I ever throw them out? Nah – probably Bronze ‘em!

No flat tires with these. I fish some muddy KS lakes/walk dams etc. I am 6ft 250lb. I can destroy a pair of knock offs in a day. I have them on now. If all you want to do is hike in these they will last you forever. I live in them and have not been able to break them yet! It's getting close to 2 years now. Can't wait to get a new pair! Don't need to. Good pair of kicks! Need to add that they DO NOT let small rocks in at ALL! If you wear them as much as I do you get the benifit of cool tiger stripe tan lines on your feet. Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Denny66 Great pair of hiking sandals
I got them about two weeks ago and they are great. Extra wide ,and fit really well. Only wish they did not allow so many little rocks in since they are a little hard to take off and back on very often. Would give them a "Big thumbs up".

I've had mine for 3years and when they are kept dry they are fine, but on wet/rainy days when they don't get to dry out in the sun they smell awful.Answers
A:
Spray each sandal's interior w. a 5-second blast of the disinfectant spray of your scent choice (I prefer "Ogeechee River Mud"). Takes about 10-20 minutes to dry (though if your feet smell it's OK to put 'em back on wet). In either case, all the bugs are dead and the stink's gone too! I've done this almost weekly for six years without damaging 'em.A:
Yeah, mine smell even when they arent wet :DIve just either just sprayed air freshener on it or just thoroughly washed it with scented soap.

If your KEEN water sandals smell funny, you can machine wash them with mild detergent in cold water on a gentle cycle. Then, air dry your sandals out of direct sunlight. Another option is hand-washing your sandals in the sink with Nik Wax Base Wash, an odor eliminating product for synthetic materials used in outdoor gear. When the sandals are clean and dry, you can rub tea tree essential oil into the upper lining and footbed for extra help. I hope this helps.http://www.keenfootwear.com/us/en/c...
