Good overall product The skirts and bands are of very high quality and work very well. Caught 3 fish on re-skirted spinnerbaits. Now to the tool: when I first tried to use the tool to hold the collars open to the smallest size they just flew of the tool. After some inspection I determined that the ends that hold the collars is tappered over the entire length. What I did was take a file and make a parallel portion on the ends to rest the collar on, this solved the flying collar issue. Make sure you round the area you file so it does not cut the collar. Good luck and Great fishing!!!! September 28, 2011
Excellent Starter Kit I've just gotten into skirt making this winter to try to keep my spirits up until the spring time. This kit comes with all the tools necessary to make some very fine skirts for pre-made or self poured jig heads of all kinds. I've combined this kit with the Do-It kit and some astonishing color combinations have been created. Everything from forage fish swimming jigs to deep water sinkers, thick skirts and thin. I have a feeling this new hobby will only progress with this kit at the center of it all. I've tested a few in my fish tank and the skirts act just like they were made by the pros at StrikeKing or Booyah. January 31, 2011
love the colors in this kit the combinations that are possible with this kit are outstanding. tons of great jig and spinnerbait skirt combinations are possible. February 1, 2009
1 up on the competition this will put you 1 up on the competition, carry it in your boat, make them up on the water , or see what everyone else is using, and make your own on the spot, virtually lets you carry 1000's of color combos and sizes in one small box. February 5, 2008

TO SEPERATE THE RUBBER BAND. SO THE RUBBER MATERIAL CAN SLIDE THROUGH EASIER. AND THE SECOND PART IS I WOULD RECOMMEND USING TWO SKIRTS FOR EACH JIG OR SPINNER BAIT. IF YOU USE JUST ONE COLOR. USE TWO OF THE SAME. OR IF YOU USE TWO COLORS GO ONE OF EACH. OR 75% TO 25% OR HOWEVER YOU WANT TO DO IT. JUST MAKE SURE HOWEVER MANY COLORS YOU USE IT ADDS UP TO TWO TOTAL SKIRTS.

You use the pliers to open the collars (that are included) to permit the silicone skirt material to be inserted.

A:
pliers are used to stretch the bands to go around the strands.
Most of mine have 30 or more strands.
Be sure to place the bands just short of center to allow for the strands to double back and be the same length as the others.

The Pliers are used to stretch open the collars so you can work the material in between the collar, and yes it does include instructions.
