Rated 5 out of 5 Perfect Camp Filtration System
I bought this in hopes that I would never need to boil or pack in water again when I camp. I was camping for 6 days 7 nights and I filled this bag 12 times about 30 gallons of water. From the first drop to the last the glass was crystal clear and tasted great. The filter system exceeded my expectations. I got compliments from all of my fellow campers even the most skeptical said the water tasted better than what they get from the trap at there own homes. I will never carry water our boil water again.

Have used this while backpack fishing and now don't have to hike to the head of the spring for water. Just drink the river water and keep fishing. For one person usage sometimes while floating in the water the end wants to come back to you while you pump. A friend (Mike) showed me the trick for one handed operation. Take a stick and attack the pickup end to the stick and keep one foot on the end of the stick to keep the water pick up in one place in the water. I love the way the output connects to a Nalgene bottle for a no spill experience. After water is filtered through the HikerPro filter you can not tell the difference between the water you are fishing from and the spring water you had to walk a mile for.

Rated 5 out of 5 compact and safe
I bought my Hiker Pro about 4 years ago from BPS. I've used the original filter since then and have filled my camelbak 50-60 times at least. It is easy to use, quick enough that it's worth the time to use it. In fact, I just wait til I get to water to fill my water bladder instead of filling at home before I leave for the trip.
to solve the problem of te prefilter getting dirty, use a coffee filter secured with a rubber band. It lasts a long time and keeps the prefilter clean.

The Hiker Pro worked great we were in the Galiuro Wilderness for six days and pumped close to 20 gallons of water, some that looked pretty bad and never got sick. The only draw back was the float holding up the intake hose would move around and pick up sediment that clogged the filter. My fix was to clean the main filter with a tooth brush and insert the the intake in a tin cup with a rock in it to hold it still and out of the sediment this worked great. next time i will take an extra filter just in case. The video looks easy but one person is hard to do in low water levels. HAPPY HIKING can't go wrong with this one

Yes. They are the same replacement cartridge.A:Â
yes! there is not much difference between the two models. The pro is the same cartridge, it just has a screen around it to prevent larger particles from damaging your cartridge.1 of 1
