Most outdoor water contains microorganisms that can make you sick. Fortunately, a quality portable water system can make virtually any water safe to drink. Katadyn water systems are reliable and easy to use, and you'll always know that you can trust your drinking water.
Rated 4 out of 5 by drc12 great filter
the filter works as advertised except that it clogged after 5 days of a 7day Canadian fishing trip. We were not prepared for a filter that couldn't be cleaned and no where, when you ordered it, was there a suggestion that you take a back up filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Enymoose Katadyn Base Camp Microfilter Water Filter
We used this water filter on Kodiak Island, on a hunting/fishing trip. The hard part was the walk to a stream to get raw water. We used the water for both drinking, coffee and cooking. There were 3 of us and neither one had any problems with the water. The replacement filter number is 8014644 and I would suggest getting a back up filter for the system. That way you will have it in case it's needed.

We used the Base Camp Water Microfilter for six days on a Canadian fishing trip. We processed about 12 gallons of water each day. There is very little work needed. Fill the bag with water, hang the bag from a tree, place the tube in a water container, sit back and relax.
The only problem I have is finding the correct replacement cartridge number.
