There is nothing like sleeping on a cot outdoors. The Kamp-Rite Oversized Tent Cot is a versatile piece of outdoor furniture that has a tent built on top of a sturdy aluminum cot frame. Built out of 210D Poly Oxford fabric with a 1500mm PU waterproof coating, no-see-um mesh doors and windows, the rain fly provides plenty of ventilation and protection from the elements when needed. The Oversized version of the Tent Cot is built to accommodate taller campers and to give more "elbow-room" for other campers. The "dome style" design allows for extra headroom. Cot features an an EVA moisture barrier/insulating pad underneath and offers the ability to tilt one end you can enjoy the relaxing comfort of a lounge chair during the day. Weight capacity: 350 lbs. Excellent camping tent and cot. Used it this weekend at the beach. It cut off the cold wind and kept out the blowing sand, very comfortable.

I recently bought the tent cot to camp with my sons scout troop.. First impression was a nice product that was going to work fine for me..The first night of camping in it I had the rain fly on and all the windows open with screens shut and it was HOT with not enough ventilation in the rain fly.. It was not that big of a problem since other campers complained of the heat also.. The next morning we started getting a slow steady rain that lasted all day. That night when I went to bed my pillow was soaking wet from a leaking window.. I closed up the leaking windows and went to sleep. It continued raining all night and I woke in the morning to a floor that was holding water.. If I had not been sleeping on a self inflating air mattress I would have been laying in water... The cot was comfortable and plenty roomy but I cant use something that leaks like this...

This is not for back packers, however if you pull into a campround and need a quick setup and compfortable nights sleep, I would highly recommend this product. thoroughly satisfied with not only its ease of setup and take done, the product is also well contructed.

Big and bulky like everyone says it is. Pretty heavy also, approx 20 lbs or seems like it. Strictly for car camping or lugging it 50 yrds into the woods.
Great alternative to hammocks or keeping off the ground in the winter when the ground is snow covered. Or in the summer when bugs are all around.
It does come with the rainfly. Must be a Basspro perk because the manufacturer does not include one, nor does any other retailers.

Is there room in the single for a mid size dog, in a pinch?Answers

Well it depends on the size of your bed, there are actually 3 modles, the compact is 84" long 24" wde, the oversized (which is the one I have) 90" long, 32" wide, and I'm not sure if the double is still in production but they do have the CTC-XL which is 84" long, 33" wide.As for the dog, I woud say there is room for a small to mid-size dog in the oversized not sure about the single.

How long is your truck bed? You will need every bit of the 90" as specified. Those outside legs or end supports need to have support. I would not have them hanging over the end of the tailgate eventhough most of the weight are on the two middle legs. If you sit up in the middle of the night, it will seesaw over the tailgate.Depending on how big you are and what your definition of medium size dog is, I would say yes. I'm 5'8" 190 and there's plenty of room left. I imagine I can fit a lab in there. Snug, but yes.

How do you secure the Kamp-Rite Tent Cot to the ground. So that it won't fall over if it is a windy day.

There are not dedicated grommets or guy lines. You will need to rig something up. There are plenty of joints and open bars to tie down with.A:Â
I would recommend bringing some rope and stakes and tieing the ropes to the legs and staking them down that way.A:Â
You can easily use guy lines on the lower frame, or keep some gear inside while you are not sleeping. If the wind blows you over while you are in it, you should not be camping. Try a cabin in those kinds of conditions. LOLDetails:Â
I just received my tent cot today. I tried to roll up the 2 big windows on each side. I used the loops and T shaped pieces for both ends of the window cover but I could not get the middle portion of the window cover to stay rolled up. What is the trick????Answers

I think I may have misunderstood the question and answered you incorrectly the first time.Are you talking about the small window that's like 6" long on the center flap with the velcro? I folded the flap in half and stuck the velcro on itself.

Hmmmm....that's unusual. Mine stays up with the two keepers. The middle doesn't sag. It's a fairly stiff fabric. Maybe try putting a stick or twig inside the roll.A:Â
You have to roll it fairly tight. I put double stick velcro in the center so it stays up a lot better than just using the loops & T shaped holders. U have to roll it up real tight then mark where u want the velcro to install it. But once u get it on it works greatA:Â
You can either roll the window tighter, make a smaller roll as it were, or just use a clothes pin or other similar clamping device. You can even use a cord to go over the top with a clamp on each end, like a tarp clamp.Details:Â

KampRite has come out with a smaller model, the CTCC, that separates like you asked. I got one for kayak/canoe camping because it folds up to a smaller profile, much like a folding camp chair.Answers

I would say it's about 40lbs. The single tentcot that is, not the double.
