Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 43 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Value This is a very good call for the price. In four outings I have called in 3 red fox and 2 coyote. The sound is not as loud as other calls, however I have witnessed a fox come in from 300 yards and it went right to the call. It made for an easy shot. At 50 yards the remote has not given any trouble but you will need a clear line of sight at the distance. No problem with batteries at this point. February 1, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Fair at Best ! This call does make realistic sounds BUT it has a very low volume. Unless your within 50 yards is difficult to hear. Concept is good but they need to at least triple the volume. December 18, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by OK First time I used it it worked. I called in my first coyote in 10 mins. After that the factory batteries died. Replaced the batteries and all is well. It could be a little louder and then remote distance is not 50 yds like it says. I got about 40 yds with the speaker 5 ft in a tree. with the speaker on the ground and a clear view to it I could only get about 20 yds. Not bad for the price when it is on sale. February 11, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by calls are good everything works great but the batteries were dead when the unit came in, but the calls are loud and the remote has good range February 7, 2011

typically you should wait about 15 minutes between calls,if no response after two or three attempts you should relocate and try again.

when i call cats i just let it run for about an hour as cats sometimes come in slow, if you have something for them to look at ( better if it moves ) it really helps. for coyotes i leave it on for about 30 min. if nothing comes i move and do the same thing, coyotes often come to the call within 2 to 10 min. so be ready ! good hunting.

Depending on which one you use the cotton tail you can play for up too a minute and pause it for 30 seconds then play it again you want it to be realistic as possible if u let calls to continue play the predator will know something is not right also use some reed calls with the electronic call to change it up it has worked for me

THE SOUND SYSTEM TAKES "AA" BATTER'S THEY LAST A LONG ,LONG TIME,BUT I CHANGE MINE ABOUT EVERY TENTH TIME OUT. THIS IS A GREAT CALL AND HAS PLENTY OF VOLUME , I ONLY USE IT AT 3/4 VOLUME,UNLESS I AM IN A VERY LARGE AREA,THEN FULL VOLUME. I JUST BOUGHT ONE FOR MY SON AND HE CALLED IN AND SHOT A BIG MALE COYOTE THE FIRST TIME OUT.

I LOVE MY CALL,AND JUST BOUGHT ONE FOR MY SON WITH DIFFERENT SOUNDS . I HAVE CALLED IN SEVERAL COYOTES,FOX,DEER,AND BOBCATS,NOT TO SPEAK OF ALL THE HAWKS, CROWS AND OWLS THAT CAME IN. I HAVE DROPPED IT MANY TIMES,AND IT KEEPS ON RUNNING.I HAVE USED IT IN COLD WEATHER AND RAIN AND IT HAS NEVER QUIT.THE BATTERY'S LAST FOR EVER,BUT I DO REPLACE THEM ABOUT EVERY 10 TIMES OF USE. The DT-1 Attractor is water resistant, but (like most electronics) it is not water proof. The call works very well in cold weather, though there may be a slight decrease in battery life when continually using it in the cold. Thanks

Do the rodent and the puppy cries work well? and if so what animal do they work best on

Answers

A:
Yes they work well and usually bring in coyotes. The two rabbit calls will probably be the most used however.

Yes both work well. Gray foxes come to both, and coyotes will come to puppy cries. I had a coyote pick my call up with puppy cries

Oh heck yeah the pup cries work well on coyotes - especially this time of year! I dont use the rodent very often but I have called in at least 5 females in the last 8 times out with pup distress. Use it!

I TURN MINE ON FOR ABOUT 10MIN. IF NOTHING COMES IN AT THAT TIME I WAIT ABOUT 5MIN. BLOW ON MY MOUTH CALL AND TURN THE CALL BACK ON AND WAIT. I DO THIS FOR ABOUT 45MIN. IF NOTHING COMES IN I MOVE AND START ALL OVER AGAIN. MOST OF THE TIME I USE IT AT 3/4 VOLUME. THIS IS A GREAT CALL !

A:
To be effective you need to be able to not only fool a coyote's ears, but their sight and smell. The Coyote will come to the sound but if they don't see any decoys to run to, they will not venture any closer. You want to play it along with a decoy, once you spot the coyote turn the E-call off and let the coyote come to the decoy. Once in range give an audible "Hoot" or actaully bark at the coyote, this will cause him to stop long enough for you to get a shot.
