I like to throw this on a Carolina rig when the water is cold, the bait doesn’t have a lot of action which the fish don’t want and in my area it’s not a bait that many people throw so it’s something different for the fish to see

The Jewel hypertail sculpin has been an awesome addition to my "Jigmiester custom jig" system. The 3" red/melon color has been a hot bait on one of my favorite big bass and slab crappie lakes and it works on walleyes on my home lake just as well. I have found numerous sculpins in the stomachs of the fish I have kept and these sculpin imitataions are hard to beat when matching the hatch! Rig them dropshot style for sight fishing giant smallmouth, or threaded on a specialty jighead with a glass bead rattle inside the bait and hold on to your fishing rod...Big walleye and bass love this bait!

The hypertail has resulted in the capture of lagemouth, and snallmouth, pickeral, even a shad, I just haven't actualy caughtr a walleye with it, There pretty scarce in the Merrimack apparently.Works well in the depths or topwater.
