Rated 5 out of 5 by Sight Does Work To be honest I bought this sight because of recommendations of friends, and They said it was hard to set up ( took me over 3 hours for set up) at first but after that it just elevation changes on the pins and They are right., It sat on my office desk for 10 weeks before I got the nerve up to remove my previous sight because I thought it was working good, boy was I wrong.. Once set up its a breeze to use and IT does Help. My comfort range previous was no longer then 40 yards and that was a 6 inch group 4 out of 5 arrows and the 1 odd shot I convinced myself it was alright to have one arrow fly off target. Now at 40 yards I group 5 out of 5 within 3 inches and arrows are touching most of the time. Ive Increased my range out to 60 yards with the same results, but now Ive ran out of Pins and wish I bought the 7 pin sight, Im going to call manufacture and see if I can buy extra pins. When first starting to sight in adjust one setting at a time, up/down or left /right and get that right then adjust the other. I think this would have been a lot easier. This sight has been one of the best changes I have made to my setup. I shoot a Mathews Z7 bow, Axis Arrows and 100 grain heads. October 21, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Sight Dont let the price hinder your decison. Bought a new bow and this site for the 2012 season. Had the 20, 30, 40 and 50 yard pin dialed inside 90 minutes. If your looking for a great hunting site and can afford it then buy it - plain and simple. October 19, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best sight out there Not very many sight company's will guarantee to help you accuracy for up to 20 yards farther than you shoot now. you will be glad you bought this sight after you get it set up. October 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by IQ™ Bowsight 4-Pin Bow Sights The best sight on the market hands down. I have been shooting bows 25+yrs. Hunting and target. This sight will increase your ability to hold and shoot longer distances by at least 10-20yds. It is also a good sight for people unable to anchor a bow string in the corner of their mouth, due to neck surgery/injurys. It simple design and ideas are truly priceless. September 27, 2012

Answer this Question

Answers

A:
I guess I have a question of how you shoot currently. When shooting at close distances (<20yds) do you have to use your bi-focals to focus on both your target and the sight system pin currently (at the same time)? What method you use, as long as you can focus on your target and the pins at the same time, the IQ Bowsight will increase your effective range when used properly with the Retina Lock. The retina lock is designed to help setup the same form for every shot and creating that repetition. So as long as you can see your sight cage and the intended target at the same time (with or without your bi-focals), you will do a lot better.

Ive seen this sight on tv and am not sure exactly how it works. How does the retina react to shooting from angles such as downward from a tree stand? or does this not matter?
Just curious before I drop $200

It will not tell you the angle. But it will tell you if you're not holding the bow correctly from the tree stand. Set it properly and them trust the sight. But know your yardage as you would with any other sight.

A:
the retina , once you get it set stays stationary. Up down or sideways it forces you to hold and anchor the same each shot. I was skeptical myself at the price but its worth it. I don't use a peep either so it really improved my groups.

Angles do not matter. The Retina Lock offers you instant feedback to let you know that you have the correct anchor point and are do not have torque in your bow. Thanks

Like the title says, can a light be used for low light shooting and are the pins individually geared for micro adjusting, or are they adjusted by the loosen and tap method?

As with most quality sights it has a series of standard mounting holes tapped. I can't see it NOT fitting any bow. I had to buy nothing to put it on my Hoyt element with a tight spot quiver.

I also have a "Stinger" and it mounted directly to the riser. It's also tapped to accept the PSE quick release bow quiver that holds 6 broadheads. No special accessories are required. When you mount the quiver, you'll have two longer bolts left over (which would be used for alternate bow types).

Set it up for your 20 yard pin. Then set up the Retina Lock. Once that is set with your 20 yard pin (Shoot several times), start adjusting your other pins. Leave the Retina lock alone. Make sure the black dot is centered every time before you release. If not you're holding something in a different way. The sight makes you hold exact every time. It's great

A:
As with every multi-pin sight that I'm familiar with, you use the vertical micro adjustment knob to set the upper-most pin (typically at 20 yds). For all other pins, you use a hex key to loosen the pin from the bar and then adjust it up or down, tighten the hex screw and then test the position for accuracy. Repeat these steps over and over for each subsequent pin until you get to the bottom. Once you get out to your maximum pin range (Let's say 60 yds) and you've hex-key (Allen wrench) adjusted so that all your arrows are clustered about the 10-ring level on the target, you can go back to the lesser yardage pins to see if your initial "global" selection for vertical knob adjustments were correct.

Always be aware that even though the signt uses screws to hold things tightly, the sight can still be knocked out of adjustment. Little tweaks up and down as well as left and right will have to be done. I seldom make adjustments based on a couple of arrows. I only make them if I see a pattern developing.

I assume you are asking about the Retina Lock?

No, but it does take some getting used to if you use a peep sight like I do. What I mean by this, just the allowable field of vision with a peep is a little restricted. I find myself looking up at the Retina Lock then looking down at the bubble with the bottom pin verses being in my field of vision with the top and second pin.

I will say that even though I have had to adopt a different sighting pattern (looking up and then down verses just straight ahead) for my bottom pin, my long range groups are better.

No....I sighted mine in with the peep sight. Just so I knew I was anchoring in the same area. Then I took the peep sight off. Much better sight window without the peep and much better groups with the Retina Lock

It is not required, but most folks still use the peep. I do not because I have been unable to distinguish a deer in low light conditions ( colorblind ). The retina forces you to hold and anchor the same each time , My groups improved drastically after I put the IQ on
