Hunter Safety System® Rope-Style Tree Strap
Quick and Safe
This rope system is much easier and quicker than a belt or strap system to attach to the tree. It allows much more flexibilty and adjustment if you need to stand or sit. You do need to watch the rope for any fraying or loose knots. Only disdvantage is that it doesn't cinch as tight as a strap can, which also may cause it to scratch on certain tree barks, causing some noise.

I bought this product because I hate trying to get my strap around the tree. This go's around the tree and you just hook up the carabiner and its good to go no trying to hook yourself up and pull the strap tight at the same time. This works great played with it a bit and when you pull on the Prussic knot it locks right up. I feel safe and I am safe if I do fall.

This does not take place of the harness. It takes the place of the strap that goes around the tree. By replacing the strap with the rope, you get more distance from the tree if you want to be able to move around a bit more. Also, if you have a stand that faces away from the tree, this strap is a must.
I've seen various models of the vest and none that I'm aware of include the rope style tree strap as a standard feature. Some new vests do now include the linemans climbing belt which is very useful for installing stands and tree steps.
Not quite sure off the top of my head on the length.I'm 6'2" and i can put as high as i can reach and still have some play. Rope can fit around just about any size tree. The sliding prussic not makes it very multi dimensional.
I have mine packed away for hunting and haven't measured it...but the rope is approximately 8 feet long with a loop at the bottom end to insure that the knot stays on the rope. The amount of free hanging rope will depend on the diameter of the tree trunk/limb.
