Use a Hunter Safety System Life Line when climbing up to or down from your treestand!
My son and I have 2 HSS vests each and we use a Life Line every time we climb a tree. The 3-pack from Bass Pro allowed us to install a Life Line on each of our ladder stands, so we don't have to move a Life Line when we switch stands. A Life Line on each stand saves time, but most importantly allows us to make less disturbance in the woods when changing stands. Great buy at a good price!

I was concerned about safety getting in and out of my tree stand as the harness that came with it only has a strap once you're up in the tree. This is exactly what I needed. I use it every time, and it reminds me of mountain climbing equipment. I liked it so much that I bought the 2-man version for my dual person tree stand.

This has got to be one of my best purchases to date. I set up multiple lock on stands each season. My kids get dropped about 250+ yds from the stands and get settled in in their own. They aren't young but the piece of mind is so worth any dollar amount. Never go into the woods with out our safety gear.

If you hunt from a lock-on or ladder stand, and if you love your family, and truly care about them, spend the $39 bucks on this product. It is so worth it! Keeps you connected to the tree the whole way up your sticks, while you climb over into your stand and vice versa on the way down. I climb with so much more confidence using the life line. Don't take chances, use the life line!

i think it is nylon, but i had this product in the woods for about 3 months without any problems. That was last year, i know just put it back after a good inspection. No problems at all. I don't feel comfortable without it.Answers

No, it utilizes a prussic knot. you can slide it up or down the rope with your hand, but as soon as there is any wait on it, it sinches tight!

I have a HSS harness, do I only need to be attached via this Life Line? How / Where does it attach to the tree?

Yeah, it attaches to the tree above your stand, just like your old tree strap. Then you tie it to the bottom to keep the rope taut. Just simply slide it up the rope while climbing. When you get to your stand, slide it as far up as you can and step over into your stand. Once in your stand, slide the knot all the way up to the carabiner, and you are ready to go. Just make sure you attach it to the tree high enough that when you sit down in your stand that your harness strap is pretty tight. This will keep you from falling far if you would, and also will allow you to lean out a little to make a shot if you need to. Shoot straight!

Simply loop around the tree above your station location and tie off the other end at ground level.

Once the life line is secured to the tree above your stand, or if you use a climber, attached at a heighth above the spot you will stop climbing, this is all you need. It is all I use. However, if you want the ability to lean around the tree for a shot and to utilize the life line system to keep you from falling, I would not recommend it for that purpose because it will swing around the tree. In that event, you would be better protected and secure by utilizing the quick connect tree strap. That will not slide from side to side. This system is designed simply to protect you in case of a fall or a slip while climbing or sitting and not for getting position for a shot. It is a fantastic product and in my mind an absolute must. Too, to set this up, utilize your linemans belt to get up the tree to install this. After installation, this is all you need when hunting. When setting up a lock on stand, you will still need to utilize the lineman's belt.1 of 1
