Held my gun up as I used my slate to seal the deal on a gobbler a week ago, Also it helps when hunting with a pump gun because in the excitement of the moment could cause you to rest the gun improperly on your knee, resulting in the forestock to come back and bust your knee cap during the shot, not fun. It helped me hold the gun steady and take a good shot. If you are wondering if you can strap in to your leg and walk in, the answer is yes, I actually forgot it was there after killing my tom this year, it ended up staying on there for 6 hours. I am mossy oak purist, so I hated that this product was realtree, not that it matters that much,but any other MO fan understands the principle involved. Otherwise great buy.
